The second wave of the corona virus pandemic in Europe has caused a new one lockdown in many states these many airlines are forced to reduce the number of flights and seating capacity.
In the coming months, KLM will fly to 90-95% of European destinations compared to the pre-crisis period, but the overall flight capacity will be reduced to 50% to 40% compared to the period before the pandemic, KLM points out. As for the intercontinental service, the number of passenger flights will be at about 50-60% of the level compared to the period before the corona.
KLM flies to Split for the first time in the winter
But, despite that, KLM introduces the Amsterdam - Split line, which will operate during the holidays, for the first time in the winter.
So is KLM for Zagreb increased the number of flights from 6 to 7 weekly flights during the holidays, while for flights to Split one daily flight is planned for the dates 20.12.2020, 23.12.2020, 27.12.2020, 02.01.2021. and 03.01.2021.
During the pandemic, KLM decided to return its service to as many of its network destinations as possible. “Given the circumstances, we do this with fewer flights and smaller aircraft. Passengers have the widest possible choice of destination, which allows us to maintain the network via the Amsterdam hub. This strategy has proven successful in recent months and has ensured that we have not had to rigorously reduce the network like some other airlines. August and September showed clear signs of recovery. Unfortunately, the second wave of the pandemic led to new constraints across Europe, not just the Netherlands. The capacity will therefore be reduced again in the coming period”Point out from KLM.
KLM will maintain its existing network strategy, even add a few new destinations, and depending on developments, further adjustments will be made in the coming period so that the current available flights with all airlines should always be checked before the flight.
