According to the latest data from the eVisitor system, Zagreb County has so far seen around 78% more arrivals and 65% more overnight stays of tourists compared to the same period last year.

Compared to the tourist record year 2019, about 87% of arrivals have been achieved so far, while the number of overnight stays is at the level of 2019.

Looking at the destinations, this year the most guests stayed in Velika Gorica, Sveta Nedelja, Jastrebarsko, Samobor i Ivanić-Gradu.

Data from the eVisitor system also show that the most numerous guests, besides domestic ones, are guests from the markets of Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, the USA, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"With a multitude of different contents, interesting places and numerous promenades and educational paths, castles that you can visit and explore, famous wine roads and the widely known gastronomic offer of this region, the green ring of Zagreb is an ideal destination for an annual vacation, far from crowds and mass tourism. I am sure that these are the main reasons and the fact that vacation homes in Zagreb County are a total hit." she stated Ivana Alilović, director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

Looking at the type of accommodation, the majority of guests stayed in hotels, homestays, campsites and vacation homes.

There are more than fifty new accommodation facilities in Zagreb County, including twenty holiday homes of high quality and structure. "By mapping tourism, we identified that one of the key challenges is the inadequate structure and quality of accommodation facilities in Zagreb County. It is precisely with these results and the increase of high-quality accommodation that we create a concept of tourism development that is sustainable and of high added value. "Concluded Alilović.
