Life on Mars - branding of the unique tourist product of the island of Pag

The sixth edition of the Life on Mars trail race takes place tomorrow, and will gather more than 1300 runners from 19 countries. For those who will not perform, the Tourist Board of the city of Novalja says that the trail is available to everyone any day of the year. The tourist board of the city of Novalja is carrying out a branding project for one of the most beautiful Croatian trails, Life on Mars, located in the picturesque settlement of Metajna. The first race of the same name was held in 2017, and the official opening of the Life on Mars track was held in 2019. Since then, the path has been walked by a large number of hiking groups, tourists from all over the world and travelers with intentions.

Thanks to the incredible landscapes and lunar landscape, as well as strategic communication and numerous activities that popularized the trail, this tourist product very quickly positioned itself as a top outdoor product that placed the destination at the very top of outdoor locations.

A project in which the Tourist Board of the City of Novalja works on the strategic, creative and implementation branding of a complete outdoor project and the Life on Mars trail is currently being implemented; from creating a visual identity, website, brochure, communication on social networks and creating a strategy.

This unique and attractive tourist product requires a complete branding strategy with the continuation of effective targeted communication and marketing activities aimed at strengthening the brand.

Let us remind you that the Life on Mars trail is part of the complete award-winning Pag outdoor project, which positioned the island of Pag as a top outdoor destination. The Life on Mars trail is the most recognizable individual brand, and the entire offer of outdoor content on the island of Pag is promoted in one place through the web platform thanks to the synergy of all tourism stakeholders involved in the Pag Outdoor project.

The branding of the island's most popular outdoor content is a continuation of work on this project, which very quickly brought concrete results, such as an increase in the number of guests and the extension of the tourist season, as well as the attractiveness and popularization of outdoor activities on the island.

Finally, let's repeat how this year's Life on Mars trail attracted a record number of participants. Namely, 1308 runners from as many as 19 countries of the world were registered! It is interesting to note that in terms of the number of participants, behind Croatia and Slovenia is... China. This is perhaps the best indicator of the popularity of the Life on Mars trail beyond our borders, and even beyond the borders of Europe.
