On this day, Germans made more than 3 million arrivals in Croatia

Germans achieved 22 million overnight stays, which is an increase of 18% compared to the same period in the record year 2019

According to system data eVisitor, tourists from our most important broadcasting market - Germany, on this day in Croatia they achieved more than 3 million arrivals te more than 22 million overnight stays, which is an excellent result and growth from 16% in arrivals te 18% in overnight stays compared to the same period of the record year 2019. This result is even more significant considering that 3 million arrivals from the German market in 2019 were achieved only at the end of December.

"Germany is traditionally our most important market, which accounts for about 28% of the total commercial overnight stays realized in Croatia from abroad. These achieved results are an additional source of optimism because Germans are known as guests who value and look for quality very much, so this is also a confirmation of Croatia's success as tourist destinations. I would like to thank my colleagues from our representative offices in Frankfurt and Munich who played a very active role in achieving these results, as well as all the tourist entities who, with their investments in the German market, contributed to the position of Croatia as one of the most favorite foreign destinations of Germans.", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, adding that more than 140.000 German tourists are currently staying in Croatia.

In the previous part of the year, Germans made the most arrivals and overnight stays in Istria, Kvarner and Zadar and Split-Dalmatia counties, while they most often chose household facilities, campsites and hotels as accommodation.  

"After two years of restrictions, Germans entered 2022 with a great desire to travel. All authoritative research conducted before the season confirmed this trend, and based on this data, we planned and implemented promotional campaigns and activities, as well as cooperation with German entities , which in the end got these excellent results. Today, Croatia is a very recognizable tourist brand on the German market, and we are one of the most important foreign summer vacation destinations for Germans.", He said Romeo Draghicchio, director of the HTZ Representative Office in Frankfurt, emphasizing that the primary goal in the coming years is to maintain, or further strengthen, Croatia's market position.

The excellent tourist results on the German market were also commented on 

"I congratulate all tourism workers in Croatia and on the market, on a high-quality and well-executed tourist season, for which our partners send us praises from satisfied guests all summer long. With this year's growth, the German market has once again confirmed the importance of German tour operators and the loyalty of German guests, who are also played a key role in Croatian tourism during the challenging pandemic years. This year's results reflect the positive experiences of guests who have visited our country in recent years and the ever-improving image of Croatia as a destination in Germany. The recommendation for a holiday in Croatia by one of the most important German institution ADAC, which was especially significant for all guests who travel by car, of which over 70% are from this market", she stated Nera Milicic, head of the CNTB Office in Munich.

Positive trends from the German market are the result of quality promotional campaigns, but also cooperation with partners, the most important of which are tour operators, agencies and airlines, and there is also a very effective cooperation with the German ADAC auto club. Croatia's performance as a partner country at the Port of Hamburg's birthday will certainly contribute to maintaining these positive trends, a special presentation of Croatia at Oktoberfest is also announced, while a festive concert will be organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Berlin on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Croatia. and FR Germany.
