In cooperation with the tourist boards in Kvarner, we joined the cycle of lectures for renters. For now, we are cooperating with the Tourist Board of the City of Crikvenica and the tourist boards of the island of Krk.
Tuesday 8.3. we held a webinar for renters from the area of the City of Crikvenica and on Wednesday, March 16 we are holding a lecture for renters on the island of Krk. The topic is the current situation in tourism with forecasts for development.
We live in times of crisis
Three major crises are shaping today's living environment. These are climate change, the Covid 19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
These three crisis factors, although not mutually conditioned and connected, still have common guidelines for influencing the further development of the economy and thus tourism.
Renewable energy sources have a positive effect on reducing global warming, but also on reducing dependence on energy from Russia, which is under unprecedented sanctions from the Western world.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, supply chains were disrupted and production facilities in Europe stopped. This has forced the governments of many countries to turn to a strategy of producing the most important goods “in their own backyard”. Food and energy are (finally) in the first place.
The war in Ukraine is a "point on i". Some already call it the beginning of World War 3. The fact is that the world has not remembered such a human tragedy on the European continent since the end of World War II. Millions of Ukrainian refugees are seeking refuge in European countries. 2 million people are left virtually homeless. All this will lead to very serious consequences for all European countries already at this stage of the conflict. The deepening of the conflict brings new, unpredictable risks. This is the breaking point. Nothing will be the same again.
Tourist flows are changing. A new political map of the world is being created. Some new division into east and west will take us back to the times of the Cold War and the Iron Curtain.
- Inflation is advancing relentlessly, the value of the euro is falling, the value of the US dollar is rising.
- The European Union has its own recovery and resilience plan, its own green and digital development plan.
- What awaits us? What can we expect? How can we adapt to the new situation?
