If you once got off the A1 highway in Ogulin and took the state road from Oštarijski Island towards the Plitvice Lakes National Park - you could have gone astray. Because there were no proper traffic signs that would lead you to the most visited Croatian national park on that road. Or uninformed foreigners, following the traffic signs, could turn off the highway in Ogulin and head towards the Croatian Olympic Center Bjelolasica. And never find the Olympic center, because it no longer exists.
That's how it was until recently.
However, on the initiative of the prefect of Karlovac County, Martina Furdek Hajdin, excellent cooperation between them was achieved Karlovac County, Regional tourist boards and Croatian highways, and new road signs were changed or installed for the Plitvice Lakes National Park.
On the highway, in both directions, signs for the non-existent Croatian Olympic Center Bjelolasica were replaced with those for the Plitvice Lakes, and 7 new signs were placed that direct tourists from the highway to the National Park at the Ogulin intersection.
