In the last days of March in Solin was organized by the Solina Tourist Board, the City of Solina and the President Hotel IX. international congress of historic cities. It is an established event aimed at promoting cultural tourism in cities with a rich historical heritage.

This year, great news from the Congress also reaches Kvarner. Namely, our little pearl of great stories – Bakar – won the Plautilla Prize - a plaque with a gold sign, which is awarded as part of the event to the best content in four categories.

Plautilla has been included in the already long series of awards that Bakar has won in recent years for its innovative and sustainable approach to the development of a cultural and touristic destination. This time, just two months after the launch, the self-guided gamified tour was awarded Playful Copper.

An innovative heritage walk that leads children and adults to the enigmatic exploration of Bakar's historical secrets was awarded in the category of the best cultural and tourist product by the decision of an expert jury.

At the award ceremony Sonja Jelusic Maric, director Tourist Boards of the City of Bakar, and at the same time the co-author of the tour concept, pointed out that products like this are created through teamwork and long-term oriented consideration of destination development and its heritage basis. Also, the director thanked her colleagues for their excellent cooperation and all the sponsors of the project who made it possible for this innovative idea to come to life.

In addition to Bakr, the Congress also awarded Vukovar Water Tower in the category of the best historical site, TZ of Motovun municipality for the best cultural and touristic itinerary for the 'Dark Secrets of the Motovun witch Dilette' tour, and Split Hotel Antique for the best themed hotel.

As for Playful Copper, you can experience it already today, given the aforementioned self-guided principle according to which it was designed. All you have to do is head to Bakar and pick up your copy of the tour brochure at the tourist office there. Based on the script of a well-known heritage interpreter Ive Silla, you will be guided by famous figures from the history of copper - the noblewoman Ana Katarina Zrinska, the legendary blind water carrier Ivan Čop and the great scientist (and copper's son-in-law) Andrija Mohorovičić.
