Business excellence on Lošinj: Awards to the best tourism employees

Already traditionally, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, on September 27, 2024, the Town of Mali Lošinj and the Tourist Board of the Town of Mali Lošinj in the Apoksiomen Museum awarded awards and recognition to employees who contributed to the development of tourism in the destination.

Recognition of Lošinj's local products in the form of prizes  they handed over to numerous winners  the mayor of Mali Lošinj, Ana Kučić, and the director of the Tourist Board of Mali Lošinj, Dalibor Cvitković.

"Thanks to your dedication and hard work, the town of Mali Lošinj is a pleasant place to live and an extremely attractive destination, where every visitor leaves with a feeling of warmth, hospitality and unforgettable memories. The enthusiasm of the award-winning employees plays a key role in the constant development and strengthening of our tourism. We believe that only with joint efforts, we can improve our offer and make Lošinj an even better place to live, as well as an even more attractive tourist destination.", said the mayor of Mali Lošinj Ana Kučić.

These awardees testify that dedication and hard work bring results. The unity of the local community, the hospitality of our hosts and the cooperation of all participants in tourism are key to creating an unforgettable experience for our guests.It is through this synergy that Lošinj and Croatia become a desirable and recognizable destination", he pointed out Dalibor Cvitkovic, director of the Tourist Board of the Town of Mali Lošinj, thanking everyone for their efforts and congratulating the award winners.

In an action aimed at raising the quality and hospitality in the destination "MAN – THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN TOURISM" this year, the following were awarded: Eleonora Olić (agency employee), Martina Kalac (tourist guide), Vesna Brunelli (sales and marketing employee in tourism), Josip Tolić (receptionist), Šemsa Velić (waitress), Zdravka Grgić (cook), Vesna Knežević (hotel housekeeping employee), Tonica Peraić (provider of catering services in the household), Tomo Trupina (police officer), Boris Tramontana (firefighter), Manda Brtan (camp hostess), Hrvoje Živković (nautical tourism employee), Branko Radić (employee in transport), Višnja Nikolić (saleswoman), Zlatoje Kobilarov (postman), Goran Herenda (lifeguard), Josip Kovačić (environmental maintenance worker), Afrim Gashi (horticultural area worker), Goran Kasteljan (community worker program), Dr. Tatjana Funarić (employee in a health facility) and the Video section of the Ambroz Haračić High School, Barbara Antonija Molaro and Egon Kamalić (excellent students for their success in competitions).

Za exceptional contribution to the development of tourism a special recognition was given to Dr. Anamarija Margan-Šulc, who contributes to the development of health and tourism on the island with her many years of commitment in the field of medicine, as well as her active participation.

Special awards were also given to associations and individuals deserving of tourism destination promotion i preservation of Lošinj culture i traditional heritage. 

For 40 years of activity and enrichment of cultural and traditional heritage, recognition was awarded Folklore group Manfrina, and for arranging paths and walkways Halmac hunting society. A new gastronomic association of tradition worshipers in the area of ​​Lošinj, Association Gušt enriches traditional festivals and is happy to cooperate and engage in all events. Frequent matches on domestic and international grounds are proof of the excellent promotion and engagement of numerous members Football Club Lošinj, a Mali Lošinj Shipowners' Association represents an important part of the maritime heritage as well as the traditions of the island that they selflessly pass on to guests through their excursions. Pupils of the Ambroz Haračić secondary school in Malošinj as part of the optional lesson "School and community" they became the organizers for one day  and chose for their project 'Off-season events on the island for islanders', in which numerous students, professors, citizens and passers-by participated. 

Recognition Parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary which contributes to the experience of staying on the island with its rich spiritual and cultural program, was taken over by the parish priest, Don Roberto Zubović. They received recognition for the preservation of cultural and traditional heritage through the speech dictionary of Nerezina "Nerezinski beseduar". Nataša Šprljan i Flavia Zorovic, and to the great guardian of the pictorial history of the island of Lošinj, Frank Neretich the award was given for exceptional cooperation.

LOCAL PRODUCTS FROM LOŠINJ

This year, two new producers from the area of ​​the island of Lošinj joined the "Lošinj local products" project; 'Twine & LoopAntoninić Vesne and Dragutin DADO Kovačević withApsyr T-shirt'.

That's the total 18 manufacturers with 72 products they proudly wear the label "Lošinj Local Products". One of the criteria was to clearly recognize the origin of the products, which must be connected to the Cres-Lošinj archipelago, as well as artistic and design originality.
