Representatives Croatian National Tourist Board i Tourist boards of the Split-Dalmatia County today in ZL Split they welcomed the leading representatives of the Polish national airline LOT, Polish tour operators, agents, representatives of the Polish airport institution, tourism journalists and travel bloggers, i.e. 180 representatives of the Polish tourism industry who arrived in Croatia as part of the promotion of the flight on the route Warsaw - Split, and the goal is to further approach and promote the tourist offer of the Split-Dalmatia County.  

They greeted the gathered with suitable speeches Kristjan Staničić, director of HTZ and Ivana Vladović, director of the TZ Split-Dalmatia County, while they spoke from the Polish side Michał Fijoł, President of the LOT Management Board i Krzysztof Moczulski, LOT spokesperson.

"For many years, Croatia has been one of the favorite tourist destinations of Poles, and our promotional activities, which we carry out independently, but also in cooperation with partners on the Polish market, have significantly contributed to this. Poles highly appreciate our offer, but also the cultural closeness and compatibility of mentality, while the improving traffic accessibility of Croatian destinations contributes significantly to positive trends, which is due to our country's entry into Schengen, which is due to better air connections. Here, LOT, the Polish national airline and our strategic partner that continuously works to strengthen the flight network to Croatian airports, stands out.", said the director Stanicic, adding that Poles come to Croatia most often motivated by the beautiful coast and nature, but also by visiting cities, diverse gastronomy and numerous cultural and historical sights.

On this occasion, for representatives of the Polish tourism industry, accompanied by Małgorzata Kowalska, director of the HTZ Representative Office in Poland, prepared a special program of stay in the area of ​​Split-Dalmatia County April 19 and 20, in the preparation of which the tourist boards of the cities also took part Split i Trogir.

"We are happy and grateful for the cooperation and long-term friendship with LOT, which recognizes Split and Dalmatia as one of the favorite destinations for guests from Poland. Namely, the Polish market is extremely important for the Split-Dalmatia County, where we generate more than a third of the total tourist traffic of Polish tourists in Croatia. This airline is not only a link between two geographical areas, but a bridge that connects two rich cultures, traditions and travel lovers. We are proud that guests from Poland rate the Split-Dalmatia County with the highest marks, and I believe that this line will further contribute to our connection and excellent results in the tourist year 2024.", said the director Vladovic.   

Poland represents one of the most important foreign markets for Croatian tourism top 5 markets from which the largest tourist traffic is realized in our country, and the fact that this is so is also confirmed by the status of Croatia as one of favorite foreign ones destination Polish.

This was especially recognized by LOT, which has numerous flights and operations to Croatian destinations, of which currently most flights are directed to Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik.

"We are glad to be in Croatia again, this time in Split. Our cooperation with Croatian partners is long-term, since LOT has transported over 2001 thousand passengers to Croatia since 800. I am sure that this figure will grow significantly in the future", he stressed Michał Fijoł from LOT, adding that this year LOT operates to the airports in Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik.  

During the meeting in ZL Split, tourism results from the Polish market, trends and expectations in tourism were briefly presented, as well as all the news, as well as the flights of the Polish airline LOT to Croatian destinations in 2024.        

Let us add that from the Polish market, more than one million arrivals and 6,7 million overnight stays were achieved in Croatia last year, which was a continuation of the trend of growth in tourist traffic from 2022, while Poles have achieved over 22 thousand arrivals in our country so far this year and almost 80 thousand overnight stays, which compared to the same period last year, represents a growth of 36 percent in arrivals and 28 percent in overnight stays.

Last year, over a million guests came from the Polish market, who realized 6,6 million overnight stays. This year, we are recording 20 percent more arrivals and 20 percent more overnight stays, she pointed out Małgorzata Kowalska, Director of the CNTB Representation in Poland.

"Poles are most motivated by the sun and the sea, of course, but also by natural and cultural heritage, excellent food and wine offerings, and more and more by city breaks. The majority of Poles come by car, but there is also an increasing number of direct air lines - from Warsaw to Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split. There are also more and more low-cost flights to other cities. For several years, we have been working on the promotion of the continental part of Croatia, and we can see increased arrivals in the continental counties as well", she said Małgorzata Kowalskaconcluding that arriving by car gives Polish tourists the freedom to stop and see other parts of Croatia.
