Today, in the solemn and impressive setting of the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments in Split, a new website was launched Tourist Boards of Split-Dalmatia County, and which is available on the Internet domain www.dalmatia.hr.
It is a completely new website that has a new visual identity and a completely new digital infrastructure. A new website was created under the aegis "Heart of the Adriatic" and as such represents an unprecedented user experience when it comes to Croatian tourism.
In addition to the fact that the site exudes minimalism, airiness, legible font and top design, multimedia and literary solutions, it is technically responsive, fast and perfectly optimized for all platforms. It creates with its simplicity user friendly experience and is very suitable for exploring central Dalmatia from every corner of the world.
For now, the site is available in Croatian and English, and by the end of the year it will be translated into German, Italian, Spanish and French.
This project was presented to those present through a video in which shots of Dalmatia, natural beauty, people and customs are intertwined with the new web page, while harmonious audio and photo effects conveyed a strong message that a destination in a globalized world has never been closer to its visitor.
On the occasion of the launch of the new website Ivana Vladović, director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board, pointed out that they had been working on this project for a year and that their goal was to make the website a new digital port for entry into the tourism of Split-Dalmatia County.
"It is currently one of the most complex and important projects of the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County. Although the website may appear to be something basic or simple, we consider it our mirror and the starting point of all communication. This is exactly where our tourist story should begin, in every corner of the world. We have reconstructed our digital infrastructure from the ground up. From the cover to all the sections, to the last picture and letters. We systematically and thoroughly processed more than 40 Central Dalmatian destinations through three clusters - the coast, Zagora and the islands. Each destination and cluster can be clicked on the interactive map and then set sail into a spectacular gallery, history, customs, cultural and natural beauty, and gastronomic possibilities. Every destination carries with it a certain story, facts and interesting facts. The point was to place equal emphasis on each destination and to discover all the tourist splendor of our county, which also overlaps with our long-term goals, which are manifested in the territorial dispersion and relief of Dalmatian tourism, in which undiscovered destinations in Zagora and on the islands play an important role.", said Ivana Vladović.
Vladović added that due to the needs of creating the web, a number of books and thousands of relevant sources were researched in detail, from scientific papers to archival newspaper articles.
On behalf of the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, Vladović especially thanked the company Profito who is behind the entire digital development of the portal, the designer Negri Nigoević which she chose and processed more than 1300 photos, for the agency Parlatina who created hundreds of textual content cards and determined the communication narrative of the new site, the producer Tamari Baboon who signs the presentation video and to all the employees of the Tourist Board who selflessly and dedicatedly worked on the project.
"We wanted to present something truly different to readers and tourists. What we have today is not an ordinary portal. It is a living being that we will refine and upgrade. This is a kind of tourism lexicon of central Dalmatia, where great emphasis is placed on the promotion of cultural, religious, nautical, health and active tourism. We put a lot of focus on the people and their customs. People and customs are especially important to us. I believe that this forms the backbone of tourism, since tourism is not just cold walls and hot beaches. The destination is primarily visited for the people and their culture. We wanted to present Dalmatia as it is in digital form. Full of colors, contrasts, charm, authentic people, sincerity, ancient customs and legends that have been passed down for centuries", says Vladović.
The state secretary in the Ministry of Tourism attended this event and expressed their praise Tonči Glavina, director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County Blaženko Boban te directors of tourist boards from all over Croatia.
The 3D maps of the entire county should definitely be highlighted. Explore the new digital port of tourism in Central Dalmatia at www.dalmatia.hr.
