On the occasion of the entry of the Republic of Croatia into Schengen from January 1, 2023, Croatian tourist agency conducts a promotional campaign on online communication channels, especially on social networks Facebook i Instagram. The campaign will be carried out until March of this year with the aim of providing additional information to all potential travelers about the even greater traffic accessibility of our country, that is, Croatia's entry into this elite European society. The campaign is carried out on 13 European markets from which Croatian tourism also achieves the largest tourist traffic, such as Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Hungary, France, the Netherlands and others.

"Croatia's entry into Schengen, together with the introduction of the euro as the new official currency, is a great achievement for our country, and the aforementioned will have a very positive effect on the further development of Croatian tourism, i.e. on further raising its overall competitiveness. This is especially important if we know that in our country, about 90% of the total tourist traffic comes from European markets, which will make our country even more accessible and practical for the realization of tourist trips from this year on. These news are also welcomed by our many partners on the emission markets, i.e. tour operators, agencies and carriers therefore, we expect a continuation of positive trends and a return to pre-pandemic levels of tourist traffic during this year as well.", he said Christian Stanicic, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

Good trends and positive expectations this year are confirmed by the tourist traffic achieved in the previous part of January, in which a total of approx. 125 thousand arrivals i 400 thousand overnight stays which compared to the same period in January 2019 represents growth of 16% in arrivals i 25% in overnight stays. At the same time, the most overnight stays were realized in Istria, Kvarner and Zagreb, and in terms of markets, Austrians, Germans, Slovenians and Italians had the most overnight stays, along with domestic guests.
