The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has published a public call for the promotion and strengthening of the competences of professional occupations for tourism in 2024 with the aim of strengthening the skills of students of secondary vocational, art and mixed schools and developing awareness of the possibilities of pursuing a career in tourism.
A public call is used to finance projects that contribute to a better life cooperation educational system and employers in tourism, increasing accessibility for tourists with disabilities and reducing the impact of tourism on the environment and climate.
"Strengthening the competencies of students in vocational schools is important for ensuring the sustainable development of Croatian tourism, and through this public call we want to encourage young people to recognize career opportunities in tourism. For this purpose, we secured a record amount of 290.000 euros this year, and I invite our vocational, artistic and mixed schools to submit projects", said the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, adding that so far the Ministry has allocated more than 911 thousand euros for high school projects in the field of tourism.
Projects can be submitted by secondary vocational, art and mixed schools founded by the City of Zagreb, counties or the Republic of Croatia. The maximum amount of funds that a school can request is €5.500, while for joint applications of two or more schools it is that amount €11.000.
Priority for grants will be given to projects submitted by at least two schools from different educational sectors, which include partner from the public, private and/or civil sector, and which are aimed at primary school students.
