Record pre- and post-season in Split-Dalmatia County

In 2023, 3,9 million arrivals and 20,2 million overnight stays were realized in Split-Dalmatia County.

According to current data from the eVisitor system, which contains tourist traffic realized in commercial and non-commercial facilities and nautical charter (eCrew system), in the Split-Dalmatia County in 2023, there were 3,9 million arrivals and 20,2 million overnight stays, which compared to the same period last year, represents an increase of 11% in arrivals and 3% in overnight stays compared to 2022.

The largest number of overnight stays were made by tourists from Germany (2,6 million), Poland (2,3 million), domestic tourists (1,6 million), the Czech Republic (1,5 million) and the United Kingdom (1,2 million). The most popular destinations were Split (3,4 million overnight stays), Makarska (1,7 million overnight stays), Baška Voda (1,1 million overnight stays), Omiš (1 million overnight stays) and Seget (1 million overnight stays). 

"Another challenging tourism year is behind us. First of all, I would like to congratulate all the tourism workers and all of you, whose work and effort make us a destination of good hosts, on the excellent results in 2023. I believe that this will be a motivation for all of us to continue. to develop our tourism in a sustainable way emphasizing our authenticity, hospitality, and at the same time valuing our heritage and heritage. What we should be proud of are the record results in the pre- and post-season, which confirm that the Split-Dalmatia County is a destination that has a lot to offer during throughout the year and that is why our further activities will be aimed at strengthening the quality of the offer for domestic and foreign visitors at all times of the year. I wish you all much success in the new tourist year 2024.", pointed out the director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board Ivana Vladović.

In the period before and after the season, that is, excluding the period from June to the end of September, more than 2,7 million overnight stays were realized in the area of ​​Split-Dalmatia County. Split-Dalmatia County is at the very top when it comes to tourists visiting us from non-European countries. Namely, in 2023 there were almost 600.000 arrivals and 1,7 million overnight stays of non-European tourists, which represents an increase of 64% in arrivals and 47% in overnight stays compared to 2022.
