Marina Barkiđija Sotošek, Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, University of Rijeka.
The key issues of audio management in Croatian tourism are:
- Based on the analysis of the current state of valorization of sound and music in Croatian tourism and the prediction of the dynamics and challenges of the tourist market, how to set the goal of this valorization of sound and music?
- How to affirm sound and music in creating a new and improving the existing offer and promotion (affirmation of positive elements and cancellation of negative elements - noise)?
- How to improve sound and music management in destination development?
The conclusions of the round table are that in addition to the awareness of the possibilities and importance of valorization of sound and music in tourism, Croatian tourism insufficiently implements the valorization of sound and music in the offer and promotion in conditions of change paradigms of understanding tourism as an economy of visual experience.
The basic idea of audio management is to achieve a unique aural experience and new tourist experiences of the destination, which should be based on acoustic ecology and indigenous values.
On the other hand, the value of professional e-textbook Audiomanagement in tourism stems from the fact that it represents the first research of valorization of sound and music in Croatian tourism in the present and future and from the multidisciplinary approach of the research topic in creating new emotions and unique experiences for tourists based on multisensory experience.
The reviewers emphasized the value of textbooks from the point of view of social and technical sciences (acoustic design in the function of minimizing the negative impact of noise). The acoustic perspective is considered within the framework of acoustic ecology, and the economic one within the framework of partnership and synergy of managerial functions in the management of sound and music valorization.
