The member states of the European Union reached an agreement on the abolition of internal border controls in air and sea traffic with Bulgaria and Romania.
The decision was made by consensus of all members, by written procedure after Austria gave in and allowed partial entry into Schengen. It is the last decision during the Spanish presidency, which ended in 2023.
