After a public call for "Gourmet Getaway - Workation & Workshops", among the registered candidates, the jury selected seven winners

The Tourist Board of Central Istria continues to implement the project "Live and Work in Central Istria", which, with the financial support of the Croatian Tourist Board, is being held for the third year in a row in the post-season period, with the aim of extending the tourist season and further promoting the destination.

After a public call for "Gourmet Getaway - Workation & Workshops", among the many registered candidates, the jury consisting of members of DNA Croatia, Adventurely and the Tourist Board of Central Istria selected seven winners:

  • Danielle Farage - generation Z futurist, educator, who works on her book during the "Gourmet Getaway". She aims to communicate through "Danielleisms" and "Friendtorships" to enhance conscious thinking and relationship building;
  • Yuval Ackerman – email strategist and copywriter, will share his journey of discovering local cuisine in central Istria through posts and emails, using his unique analogies;
  • Lizzy Komen - Amsterdam-based food photographer and recipe creator working on her first cookbook with food photos and videos. Her goal is to take pictures that tickle the palate and share her culinary passion with others;
  • Paul Bradbury - the founder of the Total Croatia News portal, will create a series of 4 videos to present lesser-known Croatian destinations and festivals, sharing the beauty and lifestyle of central Istria;
  • Shaun Busuttil - an experienced digital nomad and writer, will compile an academic journal on "commodification of community" in the space of digital nomads, contributing to the discourse on digital nomadism;
  • Nilesh Pandey - entrepreneur, will explore culture, food and friendships in central Istria while working on his latest project, bringing innovations to the region;
  • But Greene – an expert in remote work. Its mission is to empower people and companies so that they can progress through flexible work. He will continue to work remotely while enjoying the surroundings of central Istria.

The winners of the public invitation will stay in central Istria, from November 3 to December 3, 2023. In addition to free accommodation in a rural villa in central Istria, the winners will be awarded a travel scholarship of 250 euros, a weekly food budget and participation in a series of workshops and gastronomic experiences.
