Ceremonial opening of the 58th Vinkovac autumns, a Sunday parade without horses and carts

The stage performance of the Opening Ceremony with the theme 'Two splendors of ducats' through a series of scenic images in their originality of customs, songs, carts and storytelling "in a shocking way" told the people of Vinkovci and their guests the story of the unavoidable importance of ducats in life, reminded them of the value of life woven into the joy of memory of our grandparents.

"Welcome to a city that inspires with its beauty, delights with its hospitality and motivates all those who love traditional culture, all those who have preserved it for 58 years. What enchants is the unity of all our counties and the diaspora that can be seen in Vinkovci these three days", said from the main stage, the mayor of Vinkovci, Ivan Bosančić.

A river of people from all over Croatia and abroad poured into the city of proud people who know how to preserve their customs and the memory of a long and glorious past. All of them, including numerous spectators in front of the small screens, enjoyed the unique stage story about ducats, which was guided by over 150 performers.

Under the baton of screenwriter Marko Sabljaković, they took the original cars, song and sayings through parts of the Vukovar-Srijem County, this year in the Ekavian Štokavian language.

"This is another opportunity to enjoy Croatian tradition, culture, folklore, identity and everything that makes us who we are, Croats and Slavonians, through our customs, passing on the good times of our ancestors. I believe that many viewers, like do every year, to enjoy once again the wealth that Slavonia, Vinkovci and the Vukovar-Srijem County gives to the Croatian people", said Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, who opened the 58th Vinkovac autumn.

In addition to the rich accompanying program, the State Folklore Show begins today, while the Ceremonial Parade, the highlight and crown of the event, which will gather more than two thousand folklorists, is reserved for Sunday at 10 a.m. Unfortunately, without horsemen and horse-drawn carts, and such a decision was made by the Ministry of Agriculture "based on the situation on the ground and knowledge of the speed of spread of African swine fever".
