At today's session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, a decision was made adopting "State aid program for the tourism and sports sector in the current COVID pandemic 19“, For which the State Budget has provided one and a half billion kuna in support in the form of state guarantees to help entrepreneurs in these sectors.
The aim of the aid is to provide them with more liquidity and easier access to financial resources under more favorable conditions than usual in financial markets, in order to ensure their survival, preserve employment and alleviate business difficulties and create preconditions for faster recovery.
Two thirds of the total amount, ie HRK 1.000.000.000, is intended for aid to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in the form of guarantees, which will cover 100 percent of the loan principal, and HRK 500.000.000 is provided for aid to large enterprises in the form of guarantees. cover up to 90 percent of the loan principal.
"The state aid program for the tourism and sports sector is an important step in preserving the long-term liquidity of stakeholders in tourism, sports and related activities, but also an additional confirmation of the Croatian Government's continued concern for the economy in these challenging times. Grants in the form of state guarantees will be provided within the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia, and our goal is to make the Program operational as early as mid-February, in order to respond to the needs of the sector as soon as possible. This year we have two goals - to strengthen entrepreneurs in the tourism sector and attract every potential guest and send a message about a safe and beautiful Croatia", Said the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.
The program will be implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in cooperation with HBOR, HAMAG-BICRO and commercial banks, and has been approved by the European Commission.
Beneficiaries are micro, small, medium and large entrepreneurs operating in the tourism, sports and related activities in the territory of the Republic of Croatia such as hotels, resorts, camps and other accommodation facilities and restaurants and other facilities for food preparation and service, catering, preparation activities and beverage serving - for example, coffee bars, travel agencies and tour operators, nautical charter, sports facilities, fitness centers and other sports activities, including gyms, amusement and theme parks, and other entertainment and recreation activities.
