On the occasion of the celebration 25th anniversary of the HTZ Representative Office in Hungary, The Croatian Tourist Board, in partnership and cooperation with the Kvarner Tourist Board, organized an event to mark the 25th year of mutual partnership and friendship.

Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Monika Udovicič from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports attended the event held in the center of Budapest, i.e. the SELL CROATIA workshop with over 80 Hungarian and Croatian tourism entities and an appropriate evening gathering with the most important Hungarian partners, media and representatives of the Hungarian tourism sector. of the Republic of Croatia, Ivana Herceg, director of the HTZ Representative Office in Hungary, Irena Peršić Živadinov, director of the TZ Kvarner and Ph.D. Mladen Andrlić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Hungary.

"Hungarian guests are very important for Croatia. Namely, Hungary is a market that traditionally enters the top 10 markets from which we achieve the largest number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays. We know that Hungarians are welcome guests in Croatia, they know our country well, especially Kvarner. Hungarian tourists are also extremely loyal guests, and what we would like in the future is to see as many new young Hungarian tourists as possible who will discover the beauties of Croatia throughout the tourist year and who will explore some new destinations, especially those in the continental part of Croatia. Next year, Croatia enters the Eurozone, and there is also the accession of our country to the Schengen area, which will further increase the competitiveness of Croatian tourism in the European environment, and our guests from Hungary will also benefit from this.", said the director of the CNTB Christian Stanicic, who thanked Hungarian partners and the media for 25 years of friendship, partnership and mutual trust and respect.

The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Croatian office in Hungary was graced by numerous guests, them more than 160, thus confirming the importance of the tourism sector, which strongly unites Croatia and Hungary.

That's how they represented the Hungarian side, among others Judit Molnar, president of the Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies (MUISZ) and director of OTP Travel, Pálffy-Orbán István Sándor, director of media and television services in Hungary, Szolga József, member of the Hungarian Parliament, Péter Kolics, a representative of the Main Staff of the Hungarian National Police, as well as many other representatives of Hungarian professional associations, partner agencies and tour operators.

"For our dear guests from Hungary, Kvarner, i.e. the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, has always been a close and popular destination where they decide to spend their vacation. Crikvenica, Opatija, Rab, Krk and Lopar regularly find their place in the list of TOP 10 Croatian destinations where Hungarian guests stay the most. In addition to all that, we must not forget that it was the guests from Hungary who remained among the most loyal to us even in moments of the greatest travel challenges, and despite all the restrictions, they were still happy to travel to our region. From the Hungarian market, we are currently recording almost the same number of overnight stays as in the record year 2019, while compared to 2021, 32% more overnight stays were achieved. And that is precisely why we took part in the organization of the celebration of this important anniversary of the HTZ Representative Office in Budapest with great pleasure. Kvarner completely marked this celebration and it is our kind of thanks, but also an invitation to all guests from Hungary who see Kvarner as their most favorite destination, who visit us every year and who recommend us to their relatives. Along with the anniversary celebration program, together with 11 other partners from the county, we participated in a business workshop with Hungarian partners. In 2023, we will continue to focus a large part of our promotional campaigns on the Hungarian market, and the goal of all our activities is to continue maintaining the good trend we are achieving in Hungary" she pointed out Irena Persic Zivadinov, director of TZ Kvarner.

It was the pleasure of cutting the celebratory cake Marin Skenderović, the retired head of the HTZ Representative Office in Hungary, who ran the office for more than 20 years.

The anniversary of the HTZ Representative Office in Hungary was also commented on by its current director Ivana Herceg. "During its 25 years of operation, the office in Hungary has significantly contributed to the great recognition of Croatia among Hungarian tourists. Looking only at the numbers, 2019 was certainly the most successful year, as more than 3 million overnight stays from the Hungarian market were realized in Croatia for the first time. I am particularly pleased by the fact that even after two extremely difficult and challenging years, this figure was achieved again this tourist year. I am glad that Kvarner is a partner of today's jubilee, considering that almost a third of Hungarian tourists choose Kvarner as their favorite holiday destination. Thank you to all partners from the tourism sector, media representatives, Hungarian institutions and associations for the excellent cooperation and everything they do for Croatian tourism. With all the efforts that Croatia is making to make Croatian tourism sustainable, better quality and year-round, I have no doubt that our country will continue to remain the leading foreign destination on the Hungarian market when it comes to summer vacations for Hungarians., she concluded Prince, especially thanking his current team in the office, but also his predecessor, colleague Marin Skenderović.
