The city of Zagreb with its sights and tourist offer will be promoted as UHPA recommended domestic destinations in 2022

The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA) and the Zagreb Tourist Board (TZGZ) have signed a business cooperation agreement under which UHPA will promote Zagreb as a recommended domestic destination in 2022 in all communication and promotional channels of the association, public events and UHPA publications.

For many years, the UHPA Domestic Destination Project has been recommending domestic and foreign destinations with the aim of further strengthening cooperation between travel agencies and tourist boards, developing new specific tourism programs and targeting destination promotion and increasing tourism spending.

"The Zagreb Tourist Board is strategically oriented towards the comprehensive promotion of our city in domestic and foreign markets, and the selection of Zagreb as UHPA's destination of the year will further help us in this. Namely, this is a great opportunity to present Zagreb as a safe, responsible and attractive destination in front of numerous tourist agencies and tour operators in Croatia, Europe and the world, at a time when tourist flows are intensifying again. I expect that this cooperation between UHPA and TZGZ will contribute to the further recognition of Zagreb as a year-round tourist destination which, along with the so-called city-break offer, develops and various selective forms of tourism, among which are increasingly strong cultural, health, as well as eno-gastro tourism."  said the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld.

The City of Zagreb with its sights and tourist offer will be marked as UHPA's recommended domestic destinations in all information and promotional materials of the association, electronic communication, public appearances and events, sessions, regional meetings, seminars and trainings, professional lectures and social events. UHPA Days, uhpa.hr website, social networks and publications of the Association.

We are extremely honored and pleased that the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb Tourist Board, as one of our first associate members and longtime partners in many important projects, can be promoted as a recommended domestic destination in the year when UHPA celebrates three decades, he said. Tomislav Fain, President of UHPA.

"Zagreb has long strengthened its position on the tourist map of Central Europe and has become an unavoidable destination, as evidenced by statistics for 2021, when it attracted the most visitors. Proof of this is a good business strategy of the Tourist Board, monitoring trends and implementing them in new projects. This project will provide additional  tourism destination potential that we will continue to develop together into a unique, competitive and sustainable tourism product. I believe that this cooperation will additionally motivate the existing tourist agencies, but also other stakeholders, to cooperate and create a quality tourist offer, which will further encourage the arrival of guests and their multi-day stay in the Croatian capital, " Fain concluded.

So far, through the mentioned project, successful cooperation has been achieved with the tourist boards of Sisak-Moslavina, Šibenik-Knin, Zadar, Split-Dalmatia and Zagreb counties, as well as the tourist boards of Crikvenica, Hvar and Split.
