The Festival of Lights returns to the streets of Zagreb.
Od March 15-19, in the capital of Croatia will be for the fifth time to hold the Festival of Lights in Zagreb. In this way, imagination, art and light technologies will be reunited, not even in total 33 attractions at 28 locations in the Upper and Lower Towns which they will greet again a new beginning and a new hope - spring!
On the eve of the fifth Zagreb Light Festival, the Mayor of the City of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević said that he is pleased to announce the holding of the 5th Festival of Light, which is an excellent introduction to the rich tourist program in the City of Zagreb. "I hope that the response of citizens will be great this time as well and that through the awakening of light and emotions, we will start the exciting tourist spring that is ahead of us. This year, too, we have the opportunity to host artists from Croatia and abroad, to whom I would like to welcome and invite citizens to socialize and enjoying the event that heralds spring in an interesting way, new beginnings in the City of Zagreb and many other cities around Europe and the world," stated Tomašević.
Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb, Martina Bienenfeld she stated that the Zagreb Light Festival is becoming an authentic international project and event.
"After last year's premiere expansion of the locations of the Zagreb Light Festival, this year's edition again includes the Lower Town, where they also included some new locations to make it easier for everyone to visit and reduce crowds. "Thus, we introduced the locations of Ribnjak, Stara Vlaška, Kurelčeva Street, Trg hrvatski velikana, Trg victims of fascism, with which we surrounded the eastern part of the city center, and the Dolac and Opatovina markets are also new. The novelty is represented by international collaborations with artists from France, whose installations will be in four locations (Dolac, EU square, Trg kralja Tomislava and Ribnjak), as well as Italy and the Netherlands. I am also happy about the Croatian visit from Šibenik, and artists from Berlin joined us again. These guest appearances, as well as the great interest of foreign and domestic artists in future performances, show that the Zagreb Light Festival is becoming an authentic international project and event, so I would like to thank all the partners for their involvement in its very demanding and comprehensive implementation." pointed out Bienenfeld.
