Tourism in Croatia, especially commercial accommodation, experienced a 14 percent increase in attendance in the previous year, and tourists even spent 3 percent more overnight stays.
Almost 369.000 tourists stayed in accommodation facilities throughout Croatia and they achieved 823.100 overnight stays at the level of 11 months (data from the State Bureau of Statistics).
Foreign ones there were 16,6 million visitors or about 10 percent more, and domestic two and a half million tourists or 6,9 percent more came to these facilities.
With the incredible growth of tourist attendance and another season ahead of us that promises even more, it is important to pay attention to the potential problems that may arise with the increase in attendance of commercial accommodations.
Overbooking
It is not uncommon for the same room to be sold several times in the same period due to the many sales channels through which reservations are made, such as Booking or AirBnB.
This is why it is important to have a good system in place Channel Manager module. This module monitors all reservations related to accommodation and prevents overbooking.
In addition, it records the statistics of each channel and thus it is possible to see which platform brings the most profit.
