The biggest project in Croatian tourism is under construction - Valamar Pical Resort 5*

At the beginning of this year, Valamar launched the realization of the most significant project in Croatian tourism - the construction of the Pical 5* resort, which makes the Pical area the most attractive tourist area in Croatia.

A worthwhile investment 139 million euros it will be the driver of economic development, tourism and infrastructural progress of the local community and of great importance for Poreč.

According to Valamar, the work on the construction site is proceeding according to plan, which means that the opening will be as planned, i.e.  at the beginning of 2026.

Hotel Pical 5* will offer year-round tourism highest quality, open more than 700 new jobs and generally contribute to a better quality of life for the residents of Poreč. By investing in the Pical zone, public tourist infrastructure will be developed, which includes walkways, bike paths, a beach, outdoor and indoor swimming pools and a number of other facilities that will be available to tourists and the local population. Works on the construction site are proceeding according to plan, and with their completion, the Pical zone will become the most attractive tourist zone in Croatia.

"For years, Valamar has been investing in projects that continuously improve the quality of life in the community, from investing in educational institutions and sports programs to supporting important initiatives. I am sure that the development of the Pical zone, through the example of sustainable tourism, will further enrich our local community. We estimate that the operation of the Pical summer resort, along with many other benefits, will bring about 3 million euros directly to the budget of the City of Poreč every year, which will significantly contribute to the local economy and society." he said Željko Kukurin, President of the Management Board of Valamar.

Hotel Pical 5* will have 514 accommodation units and facilities that combine luxury, family and active vacations and facilities for business tourism. Visitors will be able to enjoy 8 themed restaurants whose menus will be signed by Michelin chefs and 10 bars offering drinks and signature cocktails inspired by the local offer. 

Pical Event Center - the largest event center in Istria

With a capacity of approx 1.200 participants, new congress center as part of the Pical summer resort, it will be the largest in Istria and will create the possibility for year-round holding of various business and social events, thus contributing to the strengthening of congress tourism in the region. 

The congress hall, divided into 3 sections, will also have access from the outside for displaying cars. The expansion of this type of offer makes it possible to extend the tourist season and opens the door to foreign guests with more spending power.

The Balance Spa Center on the surface of an impressive 1.300 square meters will offer relaxation and revitalization at the highest level.  The hotel will offer the most modern facilities for a family vacation, which include children's playgrounds, children's clubs and the Maro World educational playroom on more than 1.200 square meters, the largest playroom for unstructured play in tourism in the region.  

Also, the investment includes the improvement of beaches and public infrastructure such as the new Poreč Bike Center, jogging and cycling paths, an indoor pool for swimmers and a water sports center. All recreational and sports facilities, including promenades, Pical beach and others, will be available to the general public and the local population, which is crucial for the entire destination.

This cooperation will provide better conditions for training children and athletes of local clubs, and contribute to the strengthening of the sports infrastructure in Poreč.
