TZ of Split-Dalmatia County launched a cycle of educations on gastronomy

It is a cycle of educations "Branding tourist destinations as year-round or seasonal gourmet destinations"

The Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County has started a new step in branding of the Split-Dalmatia County as gastronomic destinations.

After the launch of the Dalmatian Brunch project, which aims to promote the rich culinary heritage and local way of life of our region, TZ SDŽ has now launched a cycle of training on Branding tourist destinations as year-round or seasonal gourmet destinations.

So far, trainings have been held in Milna (19.4.), Omiš (22.4.), Šolta (23.4.), while another training will be held in Bol (25.4.), and all interested stakeholders in the system of tourism and related activities had are an opportunity to hear about gastronomy, its branding and the potential of gastronomy for the purpose of greater recognition of destinations. Working materials, instructions and recipes were prepared for all participants of the education and master class.

The training was prepared by a team of top experts, including Alma Harašić Bremec (ŠKMER Culinary Academy), Željko Neven Bremec (ŠKMER Culinary Academy) who is in charge of master classes on the topic of Dalmatian cuisine, and Ivan Cvitanić as an expert in destination management. The education format is based on a lecture with a think tank workshop of a total duration of eight school hours.

Until the end of May, trainings are planned to be held in Hvar, Vis, Makarska, Vrgorac and Split.  

The education program includes: 
1. Defining gourmet destinations and examples of already branded gourmet destinations 
2. Roles and ways of involving local stakeholders in the gourmet branding of the tourist destination 
3. Modalities of gourmet destination promotion 
4. The potential of including a branded gourmet offer in programs of events that are not basically gourmet events  

Master class program: 
1. Theoretical introduction to the recognition and peculiarities of Dalmatian/Mediterranean cuisine 
2. Performance of a master class on a selected topic adapted to the destination (in the format of traditional or fine dinner dishes with plating) with the possibility of involving participants in the work  
3. Presentation of the way of serving 
4. Tasting of prepared dishes and/or menus
