Students of the Tourist and Hospitality School in Split and guests were treated to Mediterranean cuisine

On the occasion of World Tourism Day and School Day, students of the Split Tourism and Hospitality School and partner schools, with the support of the Split Tourist Board and the mentorship of famous chefs Hrvojand Zirojevića, Nikshit's Bobana, Dotand Šušnjare, Tonyand Bobana and cocktail master Aroundand Vojkovića, painted the waterfront green and treated the people of Split and tourists to cocktails and Mediterranean specialties.

The three-day event, which started today, continues Career day October 3, and ends Education Day October 4.

"The goal is to encourage a sustainable future of Croatian tourism, all within the framework of the FitSplit RCK Regional Center of Competence in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector Project. The future should be based on natural resources, rich cultural heritage and traditional culinary values, on the satisfaction and benefit of citizens and, of course, our guests", emphasized the director of the Split Tourism and Hospitality School, Ivo Bilic

Students who had the opportunity to try out their future professions in practice were particularly satisfied with the program.

"Children have motivation, but they lack experience, so this is an ideal opportunity to introduce them to a higher level of cooking. This means a lot to them, and with work and dedication, our future is on healthy feet.", said the chef Nikša Boban.

"It was tense, but I think that working with top chefs is a great experience that prepares me for business life", she said Ana Tadinac, student of the 3rd grade of the Split Tourism and Hospitality School.

At the crowded Prokuratives there was also Alijana Vuksic, director of the Tourist Board of the city of Split, who emphasized that this is the first manifestation of this year's, second in a row, Month of Gastronomy:

"First of all, I congratulate the tourism workers on their day, and we continue our excellent cooperation with the Split Tourism and Hospitality School in the weeks ahead. We organized many events during the second Gastronomy Month, which spill over into November, and are primarily intended for our citizens."

As part of the event, with the performance KUD's Unity and seniors of the dance studio Click, Šime Strikoman he took the 857th Millennium photo, coloring the logo FitSplit - Future In Tourism into green, and all with the aim of complying with the UNWTO Strategy: "Green Future and Green Investments".

Andrea Bilandzic, the head of the promotion of professional occupations and work of RCK, said that she was satisfied that almost 700 students from Split, Hvar, Brač and Trogir responded and marked World Tourism Day in this way:

"We want to send a message about the importance of sustainable tourism and a shift towards a green future that has no alternative, neither at the local level, nor at the level of the overall economy of the Republic of Croatia."

 They greeted the gathered students and their mentors Stipe Čogelja, Deputy Prefect of Split-Dalmatia County, Ivana Vladović, director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board i Matea Dorčić, head of the Administrative Department for Tourism and Maritime Affairs, a Tomislav Đonlić, head of the Administrative Department for Education, Culture, Technical Culture and Sports of the County, emphasized that investing in the education of adults and children is the only way to a quality tourist offer:

"The Regional Center of Competence project brings together the public and private sectors, businessmen, people who currently work in tourism and children who will soon work. The key to our tourism is precisely people, and investing in them is imperative for Split-Dalmatia County."
