The ski season is underway, and for the next weekend, meteorologists are announcing the first snow in Croatia. MojPosao, a portal for advertising vacancies in Croatia and part of the international Alma Career Group, investigated how many of our fellow citizens in the coming weeks is planning some form of winter vacation or travel

The research was conducted on almost 400 respondents, of which 50% are women and 48% are men. Most respondents, 49% of them, are over 41 years old. A quarter (25%) are between 31 and 40 years old, 11% are between 25 and 30 years old, and 16% are younger than 25 years old.

According to the results more than two thirds of citizens (69%) plan to go on a winter vacation or a trip this winter. More than half (53%) plan to do this more than once during the winter season. The majority of respondents who travel in the winter months (83%) go on a winter vacation, while a smaller part (17%) plan a trip that is not related to winter joys, so many will also go to warmer regions.

Most often the duration of the planned winter vacation is one week (33%), or something a little shorter - two to three days (27%) and four to five days 28%). Every tenth person will spend more than seven days (12%) on winter vacation.

Za wintering in Croatia is decided by a smaller number of citizens (10%), most likely due to the small number of ski resorts. Countries like Austria, Italy, Slovenia, France and even Bosnia and Herzegovina are more popular than Croatia for wintering.

On Question how much money they intend to spend during the winter, every fifth person points out that it is an amount that exceeds 2.000 euros. On the other hand, people who will spend the winter within Croatia plan to spend a little less money, so every other person (52%) who will spend the winter in Croatia will spend up to 500 euros.

Although on average we 'spend' less vacation days on winter vacations than on summer vacations, it costs us more. This is confirmed by the data according to which 43% of people believe that they will spend more money on a winter vacation than on a summer vacation, while 29% plan to spend the same amount as during the summer vacation. Only 28% of people plan to spend less money on a winter vacation than on a summer vacation, primarily those who go on shorter trips and travel more often within Croatia, they state. on the MojPosao portal

Bearing in mind the prices of wintering, it is not surprising that wintering is not financed from the salary paid for the month in which you go on wintering, but savings are most often used (82%). Also, contrary to popular opinion, winter vacations are not taken "on credit" (1%) or in installments (8%), the research confirmed.

Most people who they do not go on a winter vacation, they claim that it is primarily due to a lack of money (66%), while a quarter (26%) are not interested in wintering at all. Only a small part of respondents (12%) point out that they do not go on winter holidays because they do not have enough vacation days, while 7% cite some other reasons.
