The wine city is coming to Poreč for the first time

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste all kinds of wines, from sweet to sparkling.

The best Croatian wine festival is coming to Poreč. 

It is a manifestation of the Wine City, which after Zagreb, Pula and Varaždin, is coming to Poreč for the first time this year.

Saša Špiranc's project, the Wine City, contributed the most in Croatia to raising the culture of wine drinking in Croatia and to the general public getting to know and enter the story of wines. Especially since the primary goal of the festival was born out of the desire to create an event adapted to visitors who do not deal with wine professionally but are just discovering the world of wine and enjoy consuming it in a relaxed atmosphere

"The tourist board is making great efforts to revive the pre- and post-season. By organizing the first Wine City in Poreč, we wanted to present the best of the world of wine and provide our winemakers with an excellent opportunity for promotion, and we found an ideal partner in Vinart. This event fits perfectly into the strategy of the development of Croatian tourism, with an emphasis on events in the post-season. Already this year, in the pre-season, we have achieved 60 overnight stays more than last year, which we intend to continue in the post-season as well. We are convinced of the success of this event and are sure that the citizens of Istria, as well as the numerous guests of Poreč and Poreština, will find something for themselves." , he pointed out Nenad Velenik, director of the Tourist Board of Poreč in the introductory part of the conference.

During the ten days of the festival, from 19. to 29. September in Olga Ban Park in the center of Poreč, visitors will every day from 19 to 01 hour of being able to enjoy the relaxed and pleasant ambiance of the Wine City, and the wide range of numerous Istrian, Croatian and foreign wineries.

"The wine city has been successfully gathering wine lovers in different cities for years, and the idea of ​​this open-air festival is to give visitors, who may not be connoisseurs of wine, the opportunity to discover its beauty and enable wine enthusiasts to enjoy their favorite wines as well as discover new wine labels. With the aim of promoting wine culture, Vinski grad comes with a diverse and high-quality offer at affordable prices. Our mission is to provide visitors with the opportunity to discover, first of all, Istrian wines, but also wines from other parts of Croatia and abroad, in an elegant and refined environment. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste all kinds of wines, from sweet to sparkling." He said Sasa Špiranec, director of Vinart. 

The offer of wines is led by Istrian wineries: AB Vina - Anđelo Brčić, Cattunar, Franc Arman, Rossi distillery, Matić, Marcheta, OPG Kadum Ivan, Poletti, Vina Laguna and the association IQ Istrian quality.

While visitors from other parts of Croatia can taste the winery's wines Typo i Kutjevo wineries, and the foreign offer consists of: Pumpkin from Macedonia, an Italian producer of prosecco Astoria and French Lillet.

For all visitors who have not yet fallen in love with wine, erdinger the house prepared an offer of beer, and Cocktail House by Roto will delight all lovers of good cocktails. A large selection of wines will complement the cheese plates President cheese house Polly Dog street food offer.  

Visiting the Wine City is very simple; at the entrance to the Wine City, you need to rent a glass wine glass for €5, and consumption at the wine houses is paid for only by cards. Visitors can consume wine by the glass or bottle at promotional prices, and entrance to the festival itself is free.

Jukebox.hr is responsible for the daily top-notch atmosphere in Park Olga Ban with the background music, and on the first weekend, on Friday and Saturday from 21 p.m., all visitors will be additionally warmed up by a DJ with domestic and foreign hits.

We all know that Porec  a city with a rich tradition of winemaking, as evidenced by numerous awards to our winemakers, large production and events such as Vinistra, and the Wine City is another way to further emphasize and celebrate that tradition. We believe that this event will contribute to the promotion of our city, not only as a tourist destination but also as a center of wine and gastronomic experience, which we are already intensively working on.
