Today in the Parliament, the representatives are voting on changes to nine tax laws, and as far as the tourist sector is concerned, the most interesting news is that tips will be able to be left in the future. through cards. More precisely, from the first day of 2024. 

The non-taxable amount will be set at 3.360 euros per year per person, while the tip amount above the non-taxable part will be taxed at a rate of 20 percent. More than fair and correct relationship and win/win for everyone.

Primarily for the waiters, who will receive their well-deserved tip, which directly increases the total income at the end of the month, the employer because they will have a more satisfied staff, and finally the state on multiple levels. The first is the growth of tax revenue, the retention of workers in Croatia and, ultimately, an increase in consumption, because higher income of waiters means higher consumption in Croatia, which in turn flows into the economy and through taxes to the state.
 
If we have a satisfied employee, we also have quality service. If the employer has a permanent workforce, he also has business security.
