Although special measures due to the pandemic and Covid 19 are still in force in some form, we are still supported by the fact that this year there are no barriers in terms of banning traffic between counties within Croatia as it was last year.
"It is evident that quality sports and tourist events generate good tourist results. We hope that the epidemiological situation will improve with warmer weather and that we will realize most of the events and fairs starting from June until the end of the year. The project puts protected areas along the Sava River into a tourist function. Due to their authenticity and ecological preservation, they are extremely interesting to modern tourists who spend more and more time in nature.
"We are in the phase of drafting project-technical documentation for three locations: Cultural and educational zone for children and youth "Šištat", Visitor Center "Prašnik" and Info Center "Dvorina". The project, worth about 6,5 million kuna, is co-financed with more than 5,5 million kuna from the European Regional Development Fund. The holder of the project is the Brod-Posavina County, and the partners are the Public Institution "Natura Slavonica", the Municipality of Sibinj and the Municipality of Klakar. By the end of November 2023, the protected areas of Prašnik and Gajna will receive tourist infrastructure, and more than 18 hectares of the former military-warehouse complex in Gromačnik will become a cultural-tourist-educational center. ", says the prefect.
He adds that Brod-Posavina County can very well meet the demands of tourists in search of authentic, indigenous and green oases. This can be seen from the increase in overnight stays on farms, family farms and ranches, where in May there was an increase in overnight stays of as much as 303,85 percent compared to the same period in 2020. "There is great potential in this segment of our offer. ”, concludes the prefect.
