Traditional dishes made from traditional ingredients in a traditional way or Days of Taste of Croatian Tradition

On Friday the 17th. the fourth nationals begin in November Days of taste of Croatian tradition which is jointly organized 12 county tourist boards in cooperation with local restaurateurs, bearers of the Tastes of Croatian tradition standard.

Participation has been announced this year 104 catering facilities from the area of ​​twelve counties and the city of Zagreb that they have prepared for the coming days traditional dishes made from traditional ingredients in a traditional way, but also those prepared in modern culinary processing and presentation.

Every restaurant has prepared two menus from the least three sequences which will ennoble and a glass of homemade drink. The prices of menus designed in this way vary from 10 to 30 Euros, and will be on offer from Friday 17.11. until the first Sunday December 2023

"The goal of this project is to attract all lovers of traditional cuisine to restaurants that bear the Taste of Tradition label in order to help them promote these traditional dishes and preserve them from oblivion. Today we added 4 new facilities, which is a confirmation that the project is growing. Currently, almost all of continental Croatia is involved in the Okusi project, and we hope that more counties will join in the coming period." he pointed out Marcel Medak, director of the Tourist Board of Bjelovar-Bilogora County and president of the Project Council.

This year, the Tastes of Croatian Tradition standards were awarded to four new catering facilities: Cafe Livadić, Samobor; Old Puntijar, Zagreb; Kramberger, Krapina and Domestic house Lola, Vukovar.

This festival brings together 12 regional events: Tastes of the Mountain and Sea (Lika-Senj County), Tastes of Banovina, Posavina and Moslavina (Sisak-Moslavina County), Tastes of the Zagreb Region (Zagreb County), Tastes of Zagorje (Krapina-Zagorje County), Tastes of Varaždinsko region (Varaždin County), Tastes of Međimurje (Međimurje County), Tastes of Podravina and Prigorje (Koprivnica-Križevačka County), Tastes of the Bjelovar-Bilogor Region (Bjelovar-Bilogor County), Tastes of Podravina and Slavonia (Virovitica-Podravine County), Tastes of Golden Slavonia (Požega-Slavonia County), Flavors of the Borderland of Posavlje (Brod-Posavina County) and Flavors of Srijem and Slavonia (Vukovar-Srijem County).

We are proud that as many as 12 top restaurants from the Zagreb County are participating in this project, bearers of the Tastes of tradition of the Zagreb region standard. We expect that the smells and tastes of our tradition will provide visitors not only with gastronomic pleasure, but also with a unique cultural experience that reflects the authenticity of the cuisine of Zagreb County." stated the director of the TZ of the Zagreb County, Ivana Alilović.
