Last year, Croatia took a positive position by publishing an online border crossing form on its website https://entercroatia.mup.hr/

On the mentioned page, there is an online form in which all the data normally requested in the process of crossing the border are entered. With a simple presentation of a passport or identity document to a border guard, the number or code from the identity card or passport is automatically linked to all pre-entered information in the online form. In this way, the entire procedure of entering the data of each individual person in the vehicle is reduced to a minimum time and traffic flow is increased.

Without detailed research, most tourist community websites have a prominent banner or Covid info related to the epidemiological situation, which is certainly imperative, because we know that communication and perception of safety is currently crucial.

However, the Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board decided on a different approach. Namely, as soon as it opens website of the Šibenik - Knin County Tourist Board a pop up immediately appears with a simple but significant narrative, which takes visitors to the Enter Croatia website.

The message is significant because it sends the message that you care about guests (Disney's "Make me care" philosophy) and that you care about the whole experience, ie safety. The link opens in a new window, so that the window of the Šibenik-Knin County Tourist Board website is still open for all tourist information.

An interesting approach, which caught my attention, so I point it out as one of the positive examples.

It is important to point out that a special entrance lane has been introduced at the borders for foreigners who have registered through the Enter Croatia system, which speeds up the crossing of the border. Also, all those who fill in their data online, will be sent to their email address instructions that will contain epidemiological information and measures in force in the Republic of Croatia for their safe stay in Croatia.

Apart from Croatian, the Enter Croatia website has been translated into ten foreign languages. Enter Croatia has played an important role, and will play again this year.

With the eVisitor system, this is another example of digitalization, according to which we do not follow trends, but finally create them.
