The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb (TZGZ) won first place for their own Internet sites dedicated to sports: sport.infozagreb.hr at the recently held 10th international festival WorldMediaFestivals | Tourism & Travel Media Awards in Germany.

The festival evaluates and awards outstanding media solutions dedicated to tourism and travel at the international level, including audiovisual, print and online productions with an emphasis on the effectiveness of addressing a specific target group.

198 participants from 18 countries took part in the festival, and awards are given in categories for film, television, internet and print production.

At this occasion Martina Bienenfeld, director of TZGZ, stated that each of the awards is a special incentive for their work and they are happy when both the international profession and the audience recognize them.

"Hereby, I would like to especially thank Mr. Zlatko Mateša and the Croatian Olympic Committee, Mrs. Sandra Čorak and Mr. Velimir Cindrić for helping us with the creation of our sports pages. Zagreb has repeatedly shown and proven itself as a top host for numerous domestic and international sports competitions , including various world championships and world cups. Likewise, our city offers great outdoor and indoor spaces for professional, amateur and recreational sports, as well as for sports training of foreign and domestic competitors. Given the growing importance of our city as modern sports center and the need to further position Zagreb in the sports tourism segment, the pages include an overview of current sports events, a list of sports and recreational facilities and halls, a proposal for activities and a historical review of Zagreb's and Croatia's rich sports history. " she added Bienenfeld.

As a reminder, TZGZ published sports pages last year during the Olympic Games, and they are available in a total of six languages - English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and, of course, Croatian. The navigation is designed according to categories that can be searched quickly and easily, and for the purposes of promoting our city as an ideal sports destination, a commemorative film was also made.
