On occasion International Recognition Day of Croatia which is celebrated on January 15, and this year the project is being held "Get to know your country" which includes free tours of more than 50 cities across our country. So will all participants this weekend, to be exact January 12th, to be able to get to know better the culture and life of the places they come from or those they still want to discover.
The project has been organized since 2018 (with an interruption caused by the pandemic). Association of Croatian Tourist Guide Societies, in cooperation with Croatian National Tourist Board and a number of partners, including historical troops, with the support of many museums and cultural institutions.
Some of the key goals of this project are to promote the cultural heritage of Croatia, to strengthen awareness of the value of professional tourist guidance by introducing citizens to the fundamental values of our homelands, to point out the challenges faced by local tourist guides and to encourage the development of sustainable tourism.
Programs in all cities (with less justified exceptions) start at the same time - in 12 hours.
Taking into account the importance of tourist workers who are also important ambassadors of our culture and tradition, all citizens are invited to participate in discovering the historical, cultural and traditional treasures of our destinations.
