Valamar successfully opened the 2024 season and achieved a 16,1% increase in operating income in the first six months of this year.
Business growth is the result of Valamar's large investments in service improvement and portfolio repositioning in the last ten years, and the best results are recorded by hotels and camping resorts of the premium segment, they state from Valamar and add that all destinations in which Valamar operates have achieved very good results, which in particular, it refers to the destination Dubrovnik, which achieved the greatest growth.
Valamar has filled all the positions and this season around 8.200 employees will work in hotels, resorts and camps. This year too, significant investments in employee benefits and rewards continued, which are almost 20% higher than last year. Valamar thus increased the basic salary for more than 5 employees, and the salaries for professional positions - cooks, waiters, receptionists and a number of other positions this season amount to between 1.400 and 2.000 euros net.
Valamar's significant investments are focused on the construction of the premium summer resort Pical in Poreč, the largest single investment in Croatian tourism, in which Valamar will invest 139 million euros over a two-year period.
Hotel Pical 5* will work throughout the year, employ 600 employees in high-value jobs and give an additional boost to the quality of Poreč, Istrian and Croatian tourism. Investments in the Valamar portfolio in the amount of 83 million euros for this season were successfully realized, so the renovation of three hotels and resorts in top locations in Rabac, Makarska and on the island of Krk under the Sunny by Valamar brand was completed, and the first phase of construction of the Valamar Collection was launched. summer resorts in Suha Punta on Rab.
