Tourist one-gastronomic event Vivodina Wine and Walk for the first time will be held in Karlovac County or in the Nature Park Žumberak - Samoborsko gorje.
It is an already well-known Wine & Walk concept that has proven to be a top tourist product and content.
Vivodina Wine and Walk is the first tourist event this year organized by the Regional Tourist Board of Karlovac County with the support of the Tourist Board of the Cup area as well as the Association of Winegrowers, Winemakers and Fruit Growers Ozalj and Nature Park Žumberak - Samoborsko gorje. The event will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2021., starting in Obrež Vivodinski, near the town of Ozalj.
"This year's Vivodina Wine and Walk event will take place in a beautiful wine-growing area not far from the town of Ozalj. It is a tourist-recreational event that aims to present the indigenous enogastronomic content to tourists, which will ultimately result in new tourist products that will be offered on the market. The fact that after many years of scientific research, a dozen indigenous vineyard varieties, some of which are more than 100 years older, has been insufficiently known in the Ozalj-Vivodina vineyards. Historically, there were almost no households in this area that did not have their own vineyard. The fact that the forerunners of some world-famous grape varieties originate from the area of Vivodina is also impressive, but we will leave some information as a surprise for the participants who come to Vivodina Wine and walk 2021.", Said the director of the Regional Tourist Board, Zeljko Fanjak.
Participants of the event will have the opportunity to visit as many as eight wineries through a walk of about six hours during which they will be able to enjoy all the delicacies of the Vivodina region. At each of the points they will be welcomed by the host and will be able to taste the best wines from the owners of the wine cellars.
The beginning of the walk starts from the wine cellar of Josip Vrbanek along the river Kupa and goes uphill to the center of Vivodina, while the second half of the walk is of light intensity and completely goes downhill. The complete route passes right next to the vineyards and beautiful places of the Vivodina region, which is located within the Nature Park Žumberak - Samoborsko gorje, and follows the section where you will drive a week later. World Rally Championship.
When asked how you came up with the idea of Wine & Walk in Karlovac County, Fanjak points out that the concept itself is well known and very well accepted in all major wine regions, both in the world and in Croatia. “Our wine region - Vivodina, is located in a picturesque micro-location in Karlovac County, which is located in the Žumberak Nature Park. Over the past few decades, the diligent work of local winemakers has built representative wine cellars that we want to present to the general public and offer tourists an authentic experience. The hilly area below which flows the beautiful river Kupa covers over 80 hectares of vineyards, which is the perfect prerequisite for the development of such tourist products. With excellent gastronomic specialties, enjoyment of wines, participants will take on a new dimension of hedonism and I invite all people of good will who want quality outdoor socializing to secure their place at the event Vivodina Wine and Walk 2021, which will take place in less than a month. states Fanjak.
Applications for Vivodina Wine and Walk they're moving 25. March when all interested participants will be able to secure their place online through.

̋We invite everyone interested to secure their place for unforgettable socializing, either in the circle of family or their friends. If you are coming by highway from the direction of Zagreb or Rijeka, the easiest way is to exit the highway in Karlovac and follow the direction of Ozalj. After the old town of Ozalj, the main road leads along the beautiful river Kupa, which is located on the right. The beginning of the Wine and Walk trail is located immediately after crossing the bridge and turning for Vivodina on the right, where it is also the first stop of this adventure.", Concluded Fanjak with useful tips on how to come to this great event.

This is also an opportunity for travel agencies to get involved and focus a little more on the continental and rural tourist story, because it is a great motive for coming and a tourist product.
