VukovART, a street art festival in Vukovar, will be held from May 15 to June 15. For the fifth year in a row, it will host the biggest names in the world street art scene, which will enrich Vukovar, The port of art.
This year, ten artists from three continents will sail to Vukovar. This year’s artists are Boa Mistura from Spain, BustArt from Switzerland, Jana Brike from Latvia, Mr Woodland from Germany, Victor Splash from Russia, Artez from Serbia, Juandres Vera from Mexico, Kerim Musanovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Forest from Croatia and Marion Ruthardt from Germany.
So far, it has been created as part of the festival 23 urban street art works thanks to 15 top muralists and six world anamorphic 3D artists.
Namely, VukovART represents a unique concept in the culture and art of Vukovar. It promotes Vukovar as a Port of Art, changes the visual identity of the city and makes it a more beautiful place to live. Thus, Vukovar has become an "open-air gallery" in which, in addition to the local community, tourists also enjoy.
As part of the festival, Vukovar's streets and squares will be enriched by numerous exhibitions and workshops, debates, children's program, film and literary program, panel discussions, colorful lectures and concerts.
Thus, on May 15, VukovART will begin with a concert by a rock band Fire, and in the continuation of the festival, the Mia Dimšić, musical composition CLUE and vocal composition Watercolor.
Davor Gobac will lead a Motivational and Art Workshop for children, where his paintings will be exhibited.
Travel lectures will be held Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish, Dusan Bucan i Robert knjaz, and the festival will be visited by international names of the street art scene.
There will also be an active weekend led by the Vukovar Half Marathon, and for a slightly more relaxed activity, a bicycle race will be organized to tour previous works of art. During the festival, visitors will be able to enjoy a superb craft scene and street food concepts that will accompany larger events.
The organizer of VukovART is the city of Vukovar and Val kulture. And this year's Vukovar is co-financed from the European Social Fund as well as from the Interreg Fund, while the general sponsor is PPD.
