We live Destination Vinkovci - a successful story of cooperation between the tourist board and private renters

The project Živimo Destinacija Vinkovci is a project of the Tourist Board of the town of Vinkovci that started in 2023 thanks to the support of HTZ and TZ of Vukovar-Srijem County through the Fund for Tourism Underdeveloped Areas.

Although it was registered as a Sustainable Vinkovci project, all its activities crystallized the establishment of a model of continuous and functional cooperation between the tourist community (as an institution that manages the development of the destination) and key stakeholders - private renters. In their business, they directly and actively participate in creating and supporting the development of the destination. Therefore, the Vinkovac tourist board sent an invitation to them and directed their focus. 

The first activity in 2024 was connecting the public and private sectors through getting to know the people of Vinkovci from the perspective of a good host, but partly also of an interested tourist.

Thus, on March 1, 2024, a visit was made to the Vinkovci City Library and Reading Room and Ivan Kozarac's birthplace. The hosts received the renters in their institutions and introduced them to the history of the library, i.e. the birthplace and the writer himself. After that, they visited OPG Ferbežar. Given that Vinkovci is an urban area, there are few OPGs in the city that have the possibility of receiving visitors, but one of those that has turned to the creation of content for visitors is certainly OPG Ferbežar, which, in addition to honey production, also produces mead which makes it unique in the Vukovar-Srijem County, and among the few in the country.

The renters thus gained an insight into the possibilities offered to visitors, and they themselves and their guests are welcome visitors to all of the above.

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, a tour of the Vinkovci City Museum and OPG Abelo was organized. In the museum, the renters were welcomed by curators who presented the subject matter in an interesting way and certainly encouraged the renters to convey more about what they saw to the guests themselves and direct them to the museum. OPG Abelo is one of the associates who are very cooperative and also unique in the Vukovar-Srijem County, so it is highly recommended not only to renters, who may not have known about them until now, but also to guests. Both OPG Ferbežar and OPG Abelo create an offer of their products open to the wishes and needs of visitors and tourists, and are in the process of obtaining permits to open tasting rooms.

In cooperation with the Vrabac Aviation Club, the Tourist Board of the town of Vinkovac organized the Open Days of ZK Vrabac at Sopot Airport, which was visited by a large number of visitors on March 12 in the afternoon. It was also an excellent opportunity for visitors, but primarily renters, to see the offer of the city of Vinkovci so that they could communicate it with their guests in a quality and timely manner.

The last spring activity was an education on the topic of digital marketing, which was held on April 9, 2024 at the Admiral Hotel.

The company Interligo held an education on the topic of digital marketing with an emphasis on placing and managing ads on Booking.com and Airbnb.
