Vinski grad, Ironman, Istria300, Sportfest, Crofish...content is the key to extending the tourist season

After a summer full of events, Poreč has also prepared a large number of contents in the destination in the fall. As we know, the motive is the destination, not the bed, as well as the offer, i.e. the facilities in the destination. Especially outside the summer season. 

"Autumn in Poreč" is a project of the city of Poreč and the Tourist Board of the city of Poreč, which brings a rich and varied program that will take place during September, October and November, and will include cultural, sports and gastronomic events, thus confirming Poreč's status as an unmissable autumn destination this year.

Both for domestic and foreign guests. 

Nenad Velenik, director of the Tourist Board of Poreč, pointed out that Poreč has become a synonym for a rich program that includes sports, culture and gastronomy, and as this year they further confirm the status of a leading destination, not only in summer, but also in the autumn months.

"The autumn period brings a special atmosphere to Poreč, and the variety of events we have prepared will attract local residents and visitors from all over. The events we organized are an indication of how Poreč continuously invests in its tourism potential, offering content for all generations and interests. Autumn in Poreč will be truly unforgettable." points out Velenik.

Mayor of Poreč Loris Peršurić he pointed out that few cities on the sea in Croatia have such a rich and full program until the end of the year.

"The sports hall Žatika, the largest in the area of ​​Istria and Kvarner, which is regularly full, like other sports halls in Poreč, also plays a big role in this, but also great experience in organization and accommodation facilities. We try to supplement and enrich the program every year , and the reactions and interest of our fellow citizens for the Autumn event in Poreč tell us that we are on the right track. From sports, to gastronomic events and concerts, we really have something for everyone. Finally, I would like to thank all my fellow citizens - to the employees in tourism, whether they work directly or indirectly in it, for another great season. They are all the reason why our guests feel good in Poreč and why they bring back good memories from our city, and for that I thank them as mayor. ", he concluded Persuric.

According to the announced schedule of events (which highlights only major events), I don't know any city/destination in Croatia that has as many events as the city of Poreč. Also, the importance of the Žatika hall in Porec, which is a "testing ground" for a number of specialized business fairs, and thus a generator of new overnight stays, should also be highlighted. 

The hall, which was certainly not only used for the World Handball Championship held in Croatia in 2009, but as one of the main infrastructural facilities is a lever for the sports and touristic growth of Poreč. 

So let's start in order...Autumn in Poreč.

From September 19 to 29, the most beautiful Olga Ban city park will host the event The wine town of Poreč, where visitors will be able to enjoy a rich selection of premium wines. 

On Thursday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 20 p.m., a traditional event will be held on Trg slobode Exhibition of Istrian autochthonous products, on which he will local OPGs will exhibit their products, which will offer typical Istrian products.

The autumn magic continues with a gastro-musical event Goshti Mercata on September 20 at the Poreč market. It will be an opportunity to taste a freshly prepared dish, with a "cup of conversation" in good company and with a musical backdrop. 

Second edition Cabernet Sauvignon & blue fish will be held on November 8, 15 and 22. It will be three Fridays for three trips to discover the pairing of wine and blue fish with top chefs in Poreč restaurants. 

During the autumn months, Poreč will host a number of sports events. Thus, on September 22, the first recreational bicycle race is scheduled Poreč Loves Bike. From September 27 to October 12, a wrestling tournament will be held in the sports hall of Finida Valamar Cup. 

Istria300 returns to Poreč for the fourth time, attracting ambitious cyclists with impressive routes that pass through the most beautiful Istrian landscapes. Under the slogan "Ride Your Limits", Istria300 turns Poreč into the center of world cycling. Apart from the race itself, Istria300 is part of a rich four-day program. From September 26 to 29, 2024, Istria300 Expo will offer a rich content for cyclists, including the latest trends and equipment, interesting lectures and a special family program, making Poreč the center of the cycling community for this unforgettable event.

Poreč will host the European Regional Jet Ski Championship on October 5 and 6 Alpe Adria Jet Ski Tour 2024 - GP Poreč which will revive the bay of Pešker and bring the best competitors from a dozen regional countries. It is an event that combines speed, skill and energy with non-stop action, adrenaline and incredible acrobatic performances.

From October 8 to 13, it will be held in the Žatika hall World Championship in Veteran Wrestling, which brings more than a thousand participants to Poreč.

On October 20, 2024, Poreč will once again host the largest triathlon in Croatia and this part of Europe, Plava Laguna Ironman 70.3 Poreč, Istria - Croatia. The day before the main race, October 19, will be held i Iron Kids race. The start and finish will be held at Zelena Resort. The race sold out months in advance and once again a large number of participants are expected from all over the world.

Organized cycling route Epic Rides takes participants to the best locations and tracks in Croatia, so on October 26 Poreč is on the schedule, while adrenaline lovers will enjoy the octane spectacle Porec Rally on November 2 and 3 at the Žatika parking lot.

In the Euphrasian Basilica, on September 27, Zagreb soloists will hold a classical music concert as part of 63. Concerts in Euphrasiana. On the same day, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Tourist Board of the city of Poreč will give its fellow citizens and tourists another free walk through the history of Poreč "La mula de Parenzo Tours".

Visitors will have the opportunity to tour Poreč, get to know the fishing tradition, but also find out how the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway is connected with the past of this city. 

For those who want to laugh, the People's Open University prepared a stand-up comedy show on October 2 "Best of 1984 - 2023" by Ivan Šarić, while on October 31st stand up comedy is coming to the theater in Poreč Edges of Lasagna. On Wednesday, November 27, Porec will make the audience laugh Splicka Scene. 

52. Meeting of singing choirs "Naš kanat je lip" will be held on October 25 and 26, while  14. Porecdox, an international documentary film festival on schedule  from November 9 to 16.

Žatika - the center of autumn fairs 

Žatika Hall, which is fully booked this year, will host a series of specialized fairs, including the construction and decoration fair PromoArch from September 18 to 20 sports, Sport Fest Poreč from October 18 to 20, and the international fishing fair Crofish from November 22 to 24. Velenik pointed out that these fairs will further enrich the city's economic and tourist offer during the fall.

In addition to fairs, the Žatika hall in Poreč will host from November 10 to 16 Croatian Culinary Days organized by the Croatian Culinary Association.
