Winemakers and restaurant owners of the Požega-Slavonia County were educated in Slovenia and Italy

Organized by the Tourist Board of Požega-Slavonia County, winemakers and restaurant owners from the area of ​​Golden Slavonia participated in three-day educational study trip through top wineries and examples of the hospitality offered by the destinations of Goriška brda in Slovenia and Collio in Italy.

The trip gave them the opportunity to learn, exchange experiences, get to know the oenological and gastronomic offer, and have a direct conversation with the owners and managers of wineries and restaurants. The participants had the opportunity to see the operations of some of the most renowned wineries and restaurants, exploring various aspects of wine production and gastronomy, but also examples of mistakes made in business and to see their effects from the position of a guest.

The key goal of this study trip was the transfer of knowledge and the exchange of experiences among winemakers and restaurant owners who had the opportunity to learn about examples of good practice.

The Tourist Board of Požeško-Slavonska County emphasizes the importance of such initiatives for the further development of oenological and gastronomic tourism, which is one of the guidelines of the document Strategic and operational plan for the development of sustainable tourism in Požeško-Slavonska County until 2030 (to be adopted). The participants expressed their satisfaction with the organization and pointed out that they gained valuable experience as well as insight into better positioning on the market. This study trip is part of educational programs aimed at raising the quality of the gastronomic offer with an emphasis on improving the presentation of the local eno gastronomy of Golden Slavonia.
