Organized by FIJET Croatia and the Association of Tourist Journalists of the Croatian National Theater, the winners of the Marco Polo Award for the best tourist reports were announced.

As the organizers pointed out, the journalists who with their reports encouraged, approached or discovered domestic destinations with their research from the nearest surroundings to undiscovered beauties, authentic events and travels deservedly are among the winners.

He's a Grand Prix winner Goran Milić, dok je Albina Podbevšek from Slovenia winner in the category of foreign journalists. This year's winners of the Marco Polo Award are: Goran Rihelj, Marija Baric; Nada Mirković; Željka Kunštek; Tomislav Radić; Marina Borovac; Tijana Haddad and Hrvoje Ivančić.

For the publication of reports and articles on Croatian destinations on the portal HrTurizam i Turističke price, this year's winner of the Marco Polo Award is also Goran Rihelj, owner and editor-in-chief of the HrTurizam.hr portal

According to the description of the award, Rihelj, a lover of his Slavonian region, started a lobbying project for holding the Croatian Tourism Day (DHT) in Slavonia two years ago among his fellow journalists. is what seemed impossible for the organization in 2018, realized in 2019. In the last 5 years, it has published more than 7.600 news, stories, interviews and other important information in the field of tourism.

FIJET received special awards Tomislav Radić for published reports on Rhodes in Greece, the host of the last Fiet congress in 10 media, Marina Borovac from Večernji list for the project of a series of reports on Croatian destinations "Let's go on a trip", while the FIJET TOLERANCE awards were given to Tijani Haddad president of FIJET and Hrvoje Ivačić, writer, travel writer and author of documentaries.

The Marco Polo - Famous Travel Writer project was launched in 2010 by tourist journalist Tina Čubrilo with the aim of promoting tourist reporting as a journalistic form, and was supported by associations of tourist journalists and writers on tourism and other factors in tourism.
