After the completion of the evaluation process and the consent of the Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikola Brnjac, Željko Fanjak took office Regional tourist boards of Karlovac County replacing longtime director Dina Begić in that position.
Željko Fanjak comes to the position of Director of the Regional Tourist Board of Karlovac County from the position of Senior Advisor for Development and EU Funds of Karlovac County, where he previously held the position of Head of the Department of Economy.
So far, he has been involved in numerous tourism projects, including Tour of Croatia, Encounter with the river, Strudelfest, Advent in Karlovac i A touch of civilization, and as the head of the Department of Economy he worked on the development of several strategies and programs and was the head of the Working Group for the development Tourism development strategies of Karlovac County for the period from 2018 to 2025.

The new director of the Regional Tourist Board of Karlovac County, before coming to public office, worked in the marketing departments of multinational organizations such as Red Bull Racing, Heinekena i Samsung, in which he managed business processes and was in charge of the regional markets of Southeast Europe, and was involved in projects for the launch of international brands in the consumer goods sector. He is a certificate holder Design Thinking which he acquired at a leading consulting firm in Southeast Europe, Apsolon.
