Yesterday, a meeting was held in the Ranjina Palace on the topic of adding the names of scientists Ruđer Bošković in the name of Dubrovnik Airport (ZLD).

It is a further step in the realization of a long-standing initiative to pay tribute to a famous and historically extremely important Croatian scientist, born in Dubrovnik. With yesterday's meeting, the procedure was officially launched, which would have been stated and realized, they stated from Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

The meeting was initiated by Nikola Dobroslavić, Prefect of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and was attended by the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Mato Franković, and the representative of the Konavle Municipality, as well as the President of the Supervisory Board of the Airport, Mario Curić, as representatives of the co-owners of the Airport, the Director of the Dubrovnik Airport, Viktor Šober, with his colleagues, the Chief Nikola Knežić of the Municipality of Dubrovnik Coast and Krešimir Marković, Councilor in the City Council of the City of Dubrovnik.

The initiative to add Ruđer Bošković's name to the name of the Dubrovnik airport was launched at the time of the 300th anniversary of the great scientist's birth, or in 2011, and will now be operationally implemented.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that they did not repay the Dubrovnik, Croatian and world giant Ruđer Bošković enough for what he gave to humanity, so this is a good way to do it.

The initiative will be implemented by appropriate acts at the Company's Assembly in agreement with the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
