Minister Brnjac: The desire to travel is still great

The Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac held a regular meeting with the directors of the Croatian National Tourist Board's representative offices to discuss the current situation, the state of reservations, marketing and all other activities. The directors of the representative offices shared information on the current situation in the markets from which the majority of guests come, in order to adapt marketing and communication activities to the current situation.

Until 24 February, the dynamics of reservations and announcements for the main part of the tourist year were at a record level in 2019, and in some segments about 10% better. The current geopolitical situation related to Ukraine, rising energy prices and inflation have somewhat affected tourism demand, but the good news is that booking has not stopped.

"We are facing a demanding period, but people still have a great desire to travel, and the advantage of Croatia is that for our main emitting markets is a car destination and can offer beautiful nature, peace, greenery and sustainability in all segments, which tourists are looking for. Special promotional activities are being prepared to highlight our strategic goal of positioning Croatia as a sustainable destination in all segments. ", pointed out Brnjac.

The Minister also stressed that such meetings will continue to be held regularly in order to monitor the situation in all markets and ensure a prompt response.
