The Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Rijeka in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board in the period from 2019 to 2021 implemented the project "Audio management in the function of sustainable development of Croatian tourism ".

Project leaders prof. dr. sc. Christian Stipanović and Associate Professor dr.sc Diana Grgurić have prepared a manual "Audio Management in Tourism" which aims to determine the importance of valorization of music and sound in the context of sustainable development and management of a tourist destination.

Audio management is the management of sound and music. The main goal of the implementation of audio management is to achieve a unique experience and new tourist experiences of the destination, in the process of reconcepting the offer and promotion based on sustainable development and indigenous values.

The manual deals with audio management in the development of destination tourism. It offers the first insights into audio management in Croatian tourism and opens the topic of sound and music management in the offer and promotion with the aim of developing new experiential values. The analysis of audio management in Croatian tourism is based on research conducted in 2019 and 2020, with the aim of gaining insight into the current state of valorization of sound and music and the scenario of future development.

The manual also provides relevant information on the topic of noise, which has already entered the field of environmental pollution, drawing attention to the acoustic environment for which tourism is one of the major threats due to growing tourist demands. The aim of the manual is to determine the importance of valorization of music and sound in the sustainable development of a tourist destination, as well as improving the management process itself, which requires a comprehensive approach in the challenges of modern trends. By interacting with the acoustic and economic environment in management, the Audio Management Handbook seeks to encourage active consideration of sustainable tourism development as the sole objective of any economic activity that protects human well-being without compromising or compromising the survival of species and their relationships.

The manual consists of an introductory part which defines and determines the scope of the problem of AUDIOMENAGEMENT IN TOURISM. Then in the chapter TOURISM, MUSIC AND SOUND, music and sound are seen as tourist resources of positive values, whose negative consequences in the form of noise are discussed in the next chapter THE PROBLEM OF SOUND POLLUTION. The central part of the manual deals with audio management in Croatian tourism. The current situation is analyzed in the chapter MUSIC AND SOUND MANAGEMENT IN CROATIAN TOURISM, while aspects of the future development of audio management in Croatian tourism are discussed in the chapter DEVELOPMENT SCENARIO. In the chapter AUDIO MANAGEMENT MODEL, a concrete proposal of the audio management model is presented and analyzed, which is based on the principles of acoustic ecology and partner economic association. The last chapter CONCLUDING REMARKS offers a view of the importance of audio management in the reconstruction and development of new destination tourism

The manual is published in an interactive e-format, and you can study and download it HERE: AUDI MANAGEMENT IN THE FUNCTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF CROATIAN TOURISM
