Seven family and small hotels measure their carbon footprint, and yesterday in Karlovac seven carbon footprint certificates were awarded to members of the National Association of Family and Small Hotels.
Hotels Rotondo from Seget Donje, Sveti Križ from Arbanija on Čiovo, Villa Adriatica from Supetar on Brač, Skalinada from Zavala on Hvar, Spongiola from Krapanj, San Rocco from Brtonigla and Korana Srakovčić from Karlovac are leaders in green business in Croatian tourism. Along with the certificate, they received a sticker confirming that they measure and reduce their carbon footprint.
The National Association of Family and Small Hotels was the first in Croatian tourism to launch a new decarbonization project in its facilities in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. It is the third project in the last four years as part of the green and digital transition of the family and small hotel industry, preceded by Eco Green Hotel and Gourmet Authentic.
"This is a sign that small entrepreneurs in tourism are well aware of climate change, they actively want to influence the reduction of greenhouse gases and thereby achieve significant savings, but also a guarantee to guests that they are trying to eliminate negative impacts on the destination through their business activities," said Klarić, who is in Karlovac premiered the production profiling of members, a new project of the association.
