Excellent pre-season in Central Dalmatia. Official data speak, not impression

The number of beds in Split-Dalmatia County increased by 4% this year

In the first six months of this tourist year, the Split-Dalmatia County recorded a significant increase in tourist traffic, as Central Dalmatia was visited by 163 more guests than in the same period last year, i.e. arrivals growth of 22 percent i overnight stay growth of 12 percent compared to last year.

So much for a bad season. These are exact figures and facts according to eVisitor data sent to us by the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board (TZ SDŽ).

Thus, in the first half of the year, Split-Dalmatia County was visited by a total of 910.534 guests who registered 3,3 million overnight stays. Himself June this year is also extremely successful and the data so far shows the arrivals higher by 6 percent in comparison to last year and overnight stays which are higher by 3 percent. Thus, in June alone, 402 thousand registered guests visited the county 1,8 million overnight stays.

The number of beds in Split-Dalmatia County increased by 4% this year

In this way, the Split-Dalmatia County ended the first half of this business year with a large increase in tourist traffic, although the number of beds registered this year was 4 percent higher, i.e. the market of this county was this year, 10.853 more beds were placed than last year, so now in Central Dalmatia the total capacity is 256.136 beds. 

Number of buildings put into commercial use rentals in tourism is at the same time higher by 9 percent. This year, 13% of new buildings were registered in Split, 4% on the Makarska Riviera, 8% on Brač, 5% on Hvar, 4% on Vis and 16% on Dalmatinska. 

"With the increased tourist traffic achieved in the pre-season, one of the key goals of the TZ Split-Dalmatia County program was achieved, which is the extension of the tourist year to the pre-season and post-season months. In the pre-season, 509 thousand arrivals were achieved in the area of ​​the county, which is 38% more compared to last year, and 1.696,000 overnight stays, or 25% more nights than last year. Advertising campaigns and marketing actions and presentations carried out by TZ SDŽ were aimed precisely at prolonging the season and reducing the pressure on the most developed tourist areas, whereby we mainly focused on the promotion of hitherto lesser-known parts of the Split-Dalmatia County." explains Ivana Vladović, director of the TZ of the Split-Dalmatia County.

This is confirmed by the data that almost all destinations in the county recorded an increase in overnight stays and arrivals in the pre-season period compared to last year, starting from the Split and Makarska riviera, including Dalmatian Zagora, the islands of Brač, Hvar, while only the island of Vis has a slight decrease in overnight stays and arrivals in the pre-season. 

Dalmatian Zagora has an increase of 50% in overnight stays and 24% in arrivals in the pre-season, Split records 38% more arrivals and 23% more overnight stays. The Makarska Riviera achieved 42% more arrivals and 35% more overnight stays, Brač 29% more arrivals and 31% more overnight stays, Hvar 48% more arrivals and 26% more overnight stays, and the island of Vis recorded a slight drop of 11% in arrivals and 8% in overnight stays.
