Thirteenth year of the "Culture of tourism" project

The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb (TZGZ) in cooperation with the City Office for Education, Sports and Youth is implementing the "Culture of Tourism" project again this year. It is a project where, through the systematic education of high school students, for whom tourism and hospitality are not primary subjects, an effort is made to raise awareness of their own city and to introduce young people to the tourist, cultural and natural potential of Zagreb. This year, 6 schools participated in "Culture of Tourism", a the final presentation of the projects took place on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., in the Zagreb Dance Center, Street 10.

A total of 159 participants participated with mentors, and these are schools:

• Craftsman School for Personal Services Zagreb - "Zagrebački kino vremeplov",
• VII. high school - "Filmski Zagreb",
• Middle School Education Center - "Smell, taste, take away",
• Hotel and Tourism School in Zagreb - "Zagreb - pet friendly city",
• XNUMXth high school – "All roads lead to Maksimir",
• Health University Zagreb - "Something old - something new".

"The 'Culture of Tourism' project, through the education of high school students, contributes to raising awareness of their own city as a tourist destination and to introducing young people to the touristic, historical, cultural and natural potential of Zagreb. We are very proud of all the students who, as part of this project, explore the tourist side of the city and are thinking about the possibilities of evaluating the existing tourist offer, but also developing a new one. Through interactive teaching, the students get closer to our heritage, culture and tourism in a different way, and the extremely positive reactions of students and professors year after year give us a strong incentive to continue the project with future generations.", she said on this occasion Martina Bienenfeld, Director of the Zagreb Tourist Board.

We remind you that "Culture of tourism" is a project that TZGZ started in the academic year 2010/2011. Every year, during a one-semester extracurricular activity, students from selected Zagreb high schools have the task, in agreement with the project managers, to design and implement tourism-themed projects, which they then present publicly.
