The Croatian Rural Tourism Association is implementing the project this year "Professional training for digital promotion of rural tourism in the Republic of Croatia in domestic and foreign markets" with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and the organizational support of tourist boards, local action groups and members of the Association. As part of the project, so far nine educational field workshops have been organized for rural tourism service providers from Central Croatia and 11 workshops for service providers from Slavonia, Baranja and the Danube region. The experiences of the participants are positive and a large number of them decided to enroll in the Digital Catalog of Rural Tourism. Why?

“At the workshop, I received information about the importance of digital promotion of rural tourism. After the presentation of the web application moj-seoski.hr I decided to enroll in the application so that the data about our facility would be included in the Digital Catalog of Rural Tourism, which is published on the website of the Croatian National Tourist Board hrvatska.hr. The registration itself took about twenty minutes because I prepared all the necessary materials as stated in the user instructions from the brochure "7 steps to your promotion on the Croatia.hr website". I think that enrolling in the catalog will certainly increase our visibility and attendance because we want to attract as many organized groups that come through travel agencies. They will easily find information about us, as well as other service providers in our region, who sign up for the application, in the published catalog. ", noted Ivan Ožetski, leader Moslavina stories from Velika Ludina.

The application managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports aims to collect data on service providers for the purpose of their free promotion and collection of information on their business, which will be used in the work of the Working Group for Rural Tourism Development, which was recently formed. Due to the inadequate legislative framework, there is currently no central record of providers of rural tourism, which was the reason for the development of this catalog.

Unofficial estimates say that over 1.000 farms from all over Croatia are engaged in this form of tourism. The collected information on the number and types of service providers, their agricultural production and the catering and tourist services they offer on their farms will be used for the forthcoming legislative changes in order to define the Croatian model of rural tourism. In accordance with the protection of personal data, the data, except with the Croatian National Tourist Board, are not shared with third parties.

The association invites all providers of rural tourism to sign up for the web application as soon as possible moj-seoski.hr and thus exercise the right to free promotion in domestic and foreign markets. The application includes agricultural holdings that have registered wine shops, tasting rooms, agrotourism, picnic areas, rural accommodation facilities and the like. Data can change 365 days a year with the app being a tool that is fully tailored to service providers.
