Croatia is among the favorite camping destinations for Germans

Our country is very well recognized on the German market for its camping offer, and we are one of the Germans' favorite foreign destinations when it comes to this segment of the offer.

Croatian tourist agency participates in the fair this year as well Caravan Salon, which is held in Düsseldorf in the period from August 26 to September 4.

It is one of the world's leading fairs, whose visitors have the opportunity to view the offer of a total of 736 exhibitors, which refers to popular destinations and destinations, as well as a wide range of vehicles and camping equipment. With Croatian National Tourist Board as the main exhibitor, presents its offer at the fair Kvarner Tourist Board, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatian Camping Association and Valamar.

"The fair in Düsseldorf is an excellent opportunity to further emphasize Croatia as an excellent and high-quality camping destination, but also an opportunity to meet with business partners, agencies and associations. Our country is very well recognized on the German market for its camping offer, and we are one of the Germans' favorite foreign destinations when it comes to this segment of the offer. This is confirmed by the figures according to which German guests made around 860.000 arrivals in the camps this year and around 6,5 million overnight stays, which compared to the same period in 2019, represents a growth of around 25% ", he said Romeo Draghicchio, director of the Representation of the Croatian Tourist Board in Germany, adding that the continuation of positive trends from the German market is also expected during the postseason.

During the meetings with the Croatian entities, the partners pointed out that Croatia achieved very good results on the German market this year, which is also evident from the results of tourist traffic in the system eVisitor according to which the Germans in our country achieved a total of this year more than 2,6 million arrivals and over 19 million overnight stays, which compared to the record year 2019, represents a growth of about 15 percent.

At the same time, German guests spent the most nights in Istria, Kvarner and in Zadar and Split-Dalmatia counties, and according to the type of accommodation, they spent the most nights in homestays, campsites and hotels.
