Icelandic low-cost airline PLAY, which flies to Europe from its hub at Keflavik Airport in Iceland, has announced new flights from Hamilton, Ontario to Split, Croatia, via Iceland.

The first PLAY flight to Split will be on May 28, and the flights will be operated once a week, every Tuesday, during the summer season. This will be the first time that there will be regular flights between Iceland and Split, and this will also be PLAY's first destination in Croatia.

Canadians from Hamilton will be able to fly to Split one-way for as little as USD 359, and tickets are already available.

"Split is a dream destination for us at PLAY," He said Birgir Jónsson, executive director of PLAY and added that the city of Split has beautiful landscapes and a vibrant culture. "I have no doubt that this will be one of our most popular destinations this year. We want to make travel more affordable and I'm sure our services in Split will be well received by Canadians who want to visit our beautiful country Iceland. "

As a transatlantic carrier between Europe and North America, PLAY operates from Keflavik Airport, which is ideally located between two continents. PLAY's North American destinations are Baltimore, Boston, New York and Washington DC in the United States and Toronto in Canada.

Since launching in June 2021, PLAY has expanded its fleet from three Airbus A320neo aircraft to 10 Airbus A320/321neo aircraft. It can boast a network of almost 40 destinations and an impressive 83% (eng. on-time performance) of flights with an exact landing time in 2023.
